Just spent one night in the pooley bridge inn whilst visiting friends on a nearby caravan park The hotel is very run down and weary looking and in desperate need of a makeover We booked the last available room A single) for my wife and I and although small would have been ok but there were handles of drawers, no... Four of us friends went to this welcoming pub for an evening meal. We had a small issue which we complained about. The newly appointed manager remedied the situation in a highly professional manner which we were greatly impressed by. The meal we had, steak and kidney pie, cheese and onion pie and fish and chips, were all tasty and... More

Rainy Saturday evening, three pubs in the village decided to go on a small crawl. This pub looks lovely from the roadside and is very quaint inside but cold and draughty. Not very welcoming, one drink and we left... We were damp, all the doors were open and no source of heat to make people want to stay

This pub serves really nice meals, and has a large selection of beers, wines and spirits. They are VERY dog friendly. This is a proper village pub.it is set in a lovely village(Pooley bridge).this village was badly damaged in storm Desmond in the winter, the main road bride was washed away.It has all been renovated. It is well recommended for a visit.

I once again was at Pooley Bridge for the Day In The Lakes 1/2 Ironman event. A week before I had been continously calling them everyday to reserve a table on Friday & Saturday, the number I got from their website, which rung & was pick up by the answer machine which I left messages on. In all all we... More

Our family of five adults stayed at Pooley Bridge Inn for one night (three rooms). It's a picturesque and quirky old building located in a lovely setting at the head of Lake Ullswater. The busy pub downstairs doubles as the hotel reception. Overall we had a decent stay. The rooms are obviously old but with reasonable decor and facilities. The... More

We have just returned from an overnight stay at the pooley bridge inn. We called in on the off chance as we had been in the lakes all weekend and fancied an extra night. We have visited on a number of occasions but this was the first time we have stayed over and to be honest I don't think we... More

Brought some friends here for a spontaneous dinner with the kids. Menu was tiny, unadventurous and dull. The sun was shining so we sat outside (looks lovely outside). Both waitresses were curt, unattentive and rude. The one who was waiting on us virtually threw our food at us and seemed thoroughly fed up. Another customer who had ordered a steak... More

I stayed here with my partner and our 1 year old as a stop over on our way to Scotland. All in all it was a pretty nice stay. We had a family room which consisted of a double bed and bunk beds. A cot bed was supplied by staff which is very helpful, though it was a little worn... More
