We hadn't been up to Sharrow Bay for a few years and we decided to meet friends there for lunch. After a long drive we were met by staff and taken into one of the lounges from which the view of the lake is spectacular. The menu was limited but we all rally enjoyed our choices. The food was really... More

Let's start with the good things. We stayed in a garden room. It was large, clean and had stunning views of the lake. The food is good although the menu is a bit unbalanced. Even the vegetarian options didn't seem to contain vegetables. Now for the bad. The staff were not at the level of professionalism I would expect in... More

This was a surprise for my 25th anniversary, and i was not disappointed. We stayed here for our honeymoon so it was interesting to see the difference! I think the decoration is a bit overwhelming with too many sofas and chairs and too many old antiques ,i think they need to modernise a bit more, without spoiling its charm. Breakfast fabulous, served by... More

We have visited the Sharrow Bay Hotel this week my husband thought he had booked a de- luxe room, £445.00 for Dinner Bed and Breakfast, a night. On arrival, the room we thought we had booked, was not available, and another room was offered, which was the Pinkie room for obvious reasons. It was tired and the carpet was stained in... More

this hotel is exceptional. with an exceptional price per night! the hotel is appointed in circa 1930-2000s furnishings, quaint, charming, romantic. the food is excellent and a wide range of drinks complements the relaxed surrounding. not much to do here other than relax in the tudor lodge which is simply esqusite we met bbc correspondent John Sargent who was extremely... Have been meaning to come to Sharrow Bay for some time. It didn't disappoint. Special occasion - forty years since first date! Didn't stay over just booked for lunch which was excellent, it must have been because my wife literally cleared her plates which is very unusual. Food is to die for, very well prepared and presented, packed full of... More

We were given a nights stay at the hotel with all, ALL the trimmings! Amazing evening meal, a room almost as big as the footprint of our home, fantastic breakfast and views that were absolutely amazing. You couldn't ask for better - the staff too were all first class. Big thank to Sharrow Bay ps apologies for late posting we... More

My husband and I went for a special Afternoon tea treat on Sunday. We were a little early but this did not cause an issue, we were quickly shown to a window table overlooking the lake. Afternoon tea was served on a lovely cake stand. The selection of sandwiches were all beautifully made and very tasty. Warm toasted tea cakes... More

My husband and I stayed here in December and we were flooded in (there are worse things). At the time the staff couldn't do enough for us. Excellent. Sunday night was our first time back for the tasting menu. Delicious! Beautiful dining experience yet again and very tentative staff.

My husband and I had lunch here to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. We've eaten here before and the setting on the lake is just perfect, especially on a Summer evening. Even on a cloudy midday it was marvellous, and the place was quite busy. Our welcome was lovely and there was even a 'congratulations' card for us on our... More
