I loved it here. The food was fantastic as were the people. It was so relaxing. Not luxurious by any stretch of the imagination but a wonderful place to get back to nature and unwind. Cooking lessons are available and enjoyable. I cycled daily for an hour on one of the routes provided, locals are friendly and it’s easy not to get lost. I enjoyed a massage. The food is healthy and interesting and cooked with love. Waking up to the sounds of birds is a joy.
Perfect stay at La ferme du Colvert. The staff was so lovely, the food all home made and the place really peaceful. The garden is amazing and the swimming pool really nice to relax. You feel like home, do not hesitate to come, I will come back!
La ferme du Colvert is a very peacefull place, in the middle of the nature at only 1h of Hanoi. The place is huge, you can walk everywhere : there is a lake, a pool, a great restaurant with good homemade food. The staff is just so lovely, and take care of us !
Been coming here for 5 years now and loving it even more since having a baby a year and half ago. So conveniently close to Hanoi! The grounds are great fun for toddlers to explore, so many beautiful flowers and strange plants to point out and lots of animals to meet too. Staff very accommodating to a family with little ones. They provide a cot if you need and little extra food for no extra charge. We’ll be making regular trips out here. Beautiful spot and absolutely no hassle escaping to it.
So I was recommended by a friend to come and check this place out. My partner and I live in Hanoi and had a long weekend so decided to book and get away for a few nights for some peace and quiet. I originally was going to book through booking.com (they were quoting us 110usd for a deluxe room for both of us with breakfast included) However, my friend had advised me to contact them directly for a better deal. So I found them on facebook and messaged to try and book the same sort of thing but just directly through them. They also quoted me 110usd for 2 nights but said that breakfast, lunch and dinner would be included in this price. I though wow this is amazing! So I paid a deposit and would pay the rest on arrival. We arrived the first day to check in and a member of staff brought over the remaining invoice that needed to be paid for the rest of our stay. But another 110usd still needed to be paid. I thought this can't be right. So apparently it was 55usd per person per night not per room per night, making it 220usd for 2 nights. Apparently the food was included but included in their "package" that I was not aware we where paying for. When we questioned what the extra 110usd was actually for the response was meals and activities. (activities being use of the free bikes and kayaks which where free to all guests anyway). We opted out of this package and showed them booking.com. In the end we paid 110usd which included breakfast. The service in this place is an absolute joke! They are a French resort that are trying to be eco-friendly and up market. This is not the case. Firstly there are caged birds and animals everywhere, it was horrible. The only French thing about this place is in the name. The food is all Vietnamese bar the pate. We decided to have the barbecue for dinner on the first night which was roughly 13usd per person. This got us a couple of pieces of fatty meat, small fries and rice. For starters we had pate and bread rolls(The only nice part) and cold tasteless broth. For desert we had a small coconut ball and a slice of pineapple. Our free breakfast wasn't much better. We got the option of eggs, eggs or eggs. There was also only Vietnamese coffee or green tea. Very disappointing. Having lived in Vietnam for nearly two years we are very aware of the cost of food here. This was not value for money at all. This was extortion at its finest. They do have a beautiful pool and surroundings so during the day my partner and I spend most of our day by the pool. There are many bar areas and two restaurants on site but no staff anywhere to be seen. Trying to get a cold drink was impossible. We had also asked for clean towels as we used ours for the pool, we had to ask for these again the next day. The customer service was horrendous. Everything is lights out at 10pm here. We went for a walk on the first night and returned at around 9:40 to be locked out. We had to continuously ring the bell for 10-15mins to be let back in. I honestly wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. It has so much potential but unfortunately it is not be utilised.…
