We loved our stay at the Cook’s Oasis with our daughter. The new owners were just lovely and accommodating and made us feel totally welcome and relaxed. Well cared for facilities and excellent value. Calm swimming beach out front and great location. Wish we’d have stayed longer. Thank you so much from the Taylor/ Cox family.
Cooks Oasis is a great relaxing small holiday villa experience. What makes it are the hosts who are very warm and inviting and full of local knowledge and extremely friendly and helpful. We loved this haven off the main road, private and small, it worked so well with our two teenagers who had a villa to themselves, we woke up and went for a morning walk to Buluga each day for coffee and yum food. The villas are more than well stocked for making meals and are very spacious, clean and modern decorated in tropical new furnishings. Good to have a car to explore and head out to dinner around the island exploring. Loved our balcony area too. The beach is a short stroll down the driveway and great for a dip and to sit on the sand or lay in a hammock. We will definitely be back.
Our wonderful hosts Matt and Adele did everything possible to make it an amazing break away. Despite four attempts to take this holiday during these lockdowns and trying times. Adele remained in touch and every set back remained positive we would get to experience the Cooks Oasis. A beautiful and well serviced property, amenities were brilliant. Can not wait to go back and stay there again.
The owners, Adele and Matt, were incredibly helpful and friendly. The rooms were great, and it is walking distance to the beach!!! Overall, it was a fantastic place to stay and would definitely recommend it.
We have just returned home to NZ after a glorious 2 week holiday at Cook’s Oasis Villas in Rarotonga. Located on the sheltered western side of the island, this excellent cluster of smart, albeit unpretentious self contained cottages are large, airy and tastefully decorated. Our villa(6) was a perfect home away from home. The kitchen was well equipped, bathroom spacious and the king sized bed super comfortable. Everything was spotless. There were several excellent restaurants and cafes within walking distance, although we probably cooked “ at home” as much as dining out. The charming town of Avarua ,with a very good large supermarket, is a 5 min drive away. It took a mere two minutes to saunter down a little lane to the beach and the sheltered turquoise lagoon. The beach was rubbish free and the water pristine. In the evening , we sat on the orange cape cod chairs with a glass of wine or gin to watch the sun go down. We spotted migrating humpback whales from our beach spot every day and were even treated to an extended breaching display. We loved that this is not a resort. It feels private and intimate. The owners Matt and Adele are superb hosts and could not have been more friendly and helpful. Every recommendation with regards eating places or sightseeing, was spot on. I have back issues and Matt and Adele even bought two new beach loungers to make our stay more comfortable . We became hugely attached to their two gorgeous black cocker spaniels who are always available for pats if you are missing your own fur babies. There is no doubt we will be back to villa 6 , sooner rather than later .…
The Cooks Oasis offers boutique, self contained, villa accommodation on the North Western side of Rarotonga. Sunset is the highlight of the day, often with whales passing just off the reef. There is great swimming and snorkeling off the beach in the lagoon, the reef only being 25 metres out. Adele and Matt, are the amazing hosts, who offer expert advise on where to go, where to eat and what day trips to take. We really loved our two weeks with them and were sorry to leave.
Everything about this place is amazing. The owners, Adele and Matt are extra friendly and could not do enough for us. The accommodation was brilliant and the service fantastic and all within short walking distance to a bakery, a small convenience shop, several really good restaurants and, of course, close to the lagoon. At the lagoon there was an area just 20m away where we could snorkel and walk on the sandy bottom with no coral. The day we arrived we were invited to a BBQ by a couple who had been deep sea fishing and caught a Marlin. We had Marlin steaks and Adele supplied the salads. What a great welcome. Thank you Cooks Oasis for a great time.
We stayed as a family of 4 (2 teenage boys) upstairs in the 2 bedroom villa. Highly recommended, heaps of room with massive balcony. Hosts Adele and Matt very friendly and out of their way helpful.. everything very clean including the communal BBQ area. Only warning is 2x extremely cute dogs appear, especially if cooking bacon.. OK I was weak and fed them a tiny bit !!
I stayed for 5 days/4 nights on a solo "recharge" trip after throwing the whole trip together in less than a week beforehand, due to another trip getting cancelled. I had bad luck with weather, with lots of rain and overcast skies so spent a lot of time at the property. :) The property itself is well situated, nice and clean, but what really stood out was the outstanding hospitality of Matt, Adele, and their family. The property is as advertised, close to the beach (although not on it, all villas face a garden or the pool), and I stayed in a garden villa with all the things that you needed to be comfortable (good fan, comfy bed, basic kitchen). Nothing fancy, but well appointed and clean -- it matched my expectations and the price point. The Cooks Oasis really shone when it came to hospitality though - Matt and Adele are always ready to help, very friendly without being intrusive, and guided me through all sorts of mishaps (which is what happens when you book a trip a few days before you leave in the busy season), including finagling me a rental car when none were available on the island, running over left behind shoes when I was already at the airport, and giving me plenty of tips on how to enjoy the island. You can tell that they really care about the experience of their guests. As a tip, this side of the island is a little quieter and more sparse than the very touristy areas down in the south, so you may want to hire a car or bike well in advance (stock is low due to asset sales during COVID) to make it easier to get around.…
Such a magical place to relax, recharge and forget about the world's troubles for a little while. Our villa was beautiful, very clean and the property has everything you need to make the most of an adventure in paradise. The hosts, Matt & Adele are absolutely lovely and always ready to help, should you need some local knowledge. Highly recommend staying at The Cooks Oasis to make the most of your stay in Rarotonga.
