We stayed 9 days at The Black Pearl. The first 4 days we used the bus service which stops right outside, the we hired a rental car to give more scope for exploring the island. We went fishing on day 6 but next time would do this earlier because we had to eat the fish for our last 3 days... More

The Black Pearl is a clean, tidy and nicely maintained small establishment. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was the perfect place for our family to have a well needed restorative break, recovering from some health issues. We made plentiful use of the pool and BBQ, and the beach and lagoon across the road perfect for swimming and... More

Very friendly and helpful staff with a quiet, relaxed atmosphere around the pool. Nice spacious rooms, clean, basic but well-maintained and equipped. Great beach with good snorkelling across the road. Would definitely stay at Black Pearl again.

This was a lovely quiet place. Really clean rooms and friendly staff, the staff gave great recommendations of activities to do while on the island. Our transfer broke down on the way to the airport, so one staff member at the resort went above and beyond and drove us there herself. Highly recommend :)

We only stayed here for one night. We booked two rooms but it seems that two rooms in Rarotonga is one bedroom and a bed in the loungeroom. So make sure you check this when booking. At least his room had a door and gave privacy to my family. There is no restaurant or food available, and it's located across... More

Located on the sheltered sunset side of the island, the Black Pearl at Puaikura enjoys an enviable location with a pristine beach across the road, safe for swimming and snorkelling; a magical spot to watch the sunset. A mere 15 minutes to downtown Avarua, ten minutes to the airport and twenty minutes to the eclectic hustle and bustle of Muri. Intimately set in tropical gardens around a central salt water swimming pool The Black Pearl’s 12 rooms are spacious with high vaulted ceilings. A bold, vibrant, sometimes quirky colour palette complements the natural colours of the island. All on the ground level each room has a private patio, a view of either the lush garden or sparkling pool – or both. Kitchen facilities mean you can prepare breakfast, a light lunch or dinner in between dining at a great choice of restaurants close by, many of whom offer a free pick up and drop off service. Or choose to use our poolside BBQ.
