We have recently returned from a stay at Lagoon Breeze Villas. We stayed in a studio apartment which was comfortably furnished to a high standard and had all the amenities for a self catering stay. The additional tea, coffee, salt and washing up liquid was a great convenience, meaning we did not need to buy the basics. The breakfast provided was a buffet style of fresh fruit, yoghurt and toast, you could help yourself as many times as you wanted. The site itself was immaculately clean and very well maintained, its location close to the beach was fantastic. There is a bus stop immediately outside the accommodation which made it easy to get public transport around the island, there is a local shop about one mile away and the nearest restaurant is about half a mile away, the street lighting is not great at night. There is a swimming pool on site that has a number of comfortable sun beds, this area is very clean as is the pool, towels for the pool are provided in the apartment. The staff are in the villas are very friendly and helpful, from booking to departure, they helped in booking trips and excursions and were a knowledge of information about the island. I would certainly recommend this accommodation for couples and families.

This resort and location are best suited for families and couples looking to get away from the hustle and bustle. Stayed in a Garden Studio with microwave, kettle, toaster, two burner gas cooker, and bar fridge. I have a gluten intolerance and the staff had gluten free bread and muesli in the room so that I could have some breakfast options. Very thoughtful.
The pool is a nice size and well maintained. The breakfast area and staff are friendly and accommodating. The staff typically have more than one duty on the resort, so remember to say Kia Orana (hello) to them.
There are resident animals (dog and cats) on the property to add to the away from home environment.
Across the road is the most spectacular beach. You can walk out quite a ways. Snorkel or kayak to your hearts content. We tried other beaches and the largest variety of colourful fish was right there.
Situated on the west side of the island, you can take in some spectacular sunsets. It was like watching a movie some days....seemed surreal.
The location is quiet and away from any bar nightlife. However, the bus system is really easy to get around to downtown.
Don't forget to look up, being away from the light pollution you get an amazing view of the night sky and its constellations.
One thing you will not escape no matter where you stay on the island is the roosters. They crow no matter what time of day it is. Take earplugs to shut them out. Enjoy!

We booked seven nights in late January 2020. Place was easy to find after driving from the Airport. Nice clean accomodation that was bigger than we expected. We origionally booked a Garden studio but were upgraded to a Garden Villa. The place could easily sleep four. There was a bedroom with a King sized bed (Very comfortable) and two single beds in the main room. A small dining area and well fitted kitchen meant we could eat and cook in the room if we wanted. A tropical breakfast was provided each morning and was awesome! A large toilet and shower area finished off the inside. Nice patio with table and chairs overlooking well groomed gardens and a Barbecue for guests if they wanted to do their cooking outside.
A very good swiming pool and a childrens play area added to the good facilities provided. Their were plenty of mask, snorkel and fins to borrow as the lagoon is just over the road from the beach, and a little further down is some of the best snorkelling available on the Islamd. (Its certainly were you find the locals).

The staff were friendly and helpful and happy to suggest eating places and activities. There were a number of famillies with small kids staying at the Villas - but there was no noisy neighbours.. Me with my boom box was the noise maker. The free flowing chickens, working cats and dog just add to the overall ambiance.

We stayed in a 1 bedroom villa. It was beautiful, set in peaceful and quiet, well kept grounds. Across the road from the beach and a bus stop.

Self catering, there was a hob and a microwave, with all the basics for what we needed. Bathroom is spacious and modern. There was aircon in the bedroom, which we didn’t need, and a ceiling fan in the bedroom and lounge areas.
There are insect screens on all the windows (which we just left open) and mozzie coils were in the cupboard.

Breakfast was included, and comprised fresh fruit, cereals, yoghurt, toast and tea/coffee. Served between 7.30 and 9.30 and delicious.
There’s a guest laundry, operated by a token ($5 from reception) for the washer and dryer. There are also clothes lines to use. Works out way cheaper than the local laundromats.
The ladies servicing our villa was delightful and very friendly.
Reception staff were fabulous, friendly and helpful.

I would definitely stay here again and have already recommended it to others.

Lagoon Breeze Villas is a laid back, spacious and quiet set of villas located just across the road from an epic snorkelling the beach. The hosts are SO helpful and laid back, nothing is a problem. The breakfast was just delicious - a selection of cereals, toast and tropical fruit.
There is so much to do here - the pool is the best on the island, there are kayaks, reef shoes and snorkel gear. The Rarotongan is just down the road if you want lunch or dinner out but you'll be greatful to get back to Lagoon Breeze. Beluga is a restaurant close by for a yummy lunch.
Car/scooter/bike rentals are a short walk away and the bus stops right outside.
The villas are well equipped and have everything you need. The beds are super comfy. There are BBQs around the resort for you to use. We liked the 2 bedroom villas a lot more than the 1 bedroom ones so it's worth paying the extra if it is more than two people.
Our two young kids loved Lagoon Breeze and we can't wait to go back, we wouldn't stay anywhere else on the island.

Lagoon Breezes was an absolutely amazing place to stay. Great service from the moment of arriving until the day we left. All the staff from front desk, room maintenance, security and breakfast service amazing.
The location right across from the most fabulous snorkelling is highly recommended.
Bus service out on the road, probably recommend hiring a car if you are a couple wanting to try local restaurants as we did and not cook.
Resident cat Hokey Pokey and dog Cocoa just added to the feeling of being in a lovely friendly place.

Highly recommend Lagoon Breeze Villas. Our villa was spotless as were the rest of the facilities. The team are very warm and friendly. We would definitely come back for another stay. This is a family friendly place but has enough space for the kids to be kids without them being underfoot. Morning breakfast (included in our package) was simple, fresh and plenty of it. Across the road is one of the top 3 snorkeling beaches but more importantly it is the one the locals come to. The LBV has lots of snorkel gear to borrow for free and kayaks too.

What an amazing place to stay. We looked at staying at a resort but decided against it as it was quite expensive for a family of 5. Chose Lagoon Breeze instead and were so glad that we did. If you are looking at relaxing and bit away from the crowds, this is the place to be. It was so peaceful being able to have a drink on the deck while looking out over the perfectly maintained grounds.

We stayed in the two bedroom, two story villa and felt like we had plenty of space. It was clean and tidy, had a full kitchen if we felt the desire to cook (not that we did with so many great restaurants around the island). The kids loved swimming in the pool and we met lots of lovely people while staying there. The marine reserve is just around the corner with some of the best snorkling on the island. We also made use of the kayaks which was great as one of our children was not the most confident at snorkling. We were able to paddle out over the coral and see hundreds of fish as the water was super clear.

My only recommendation would be to hire a car. The Rarotongan is an easy 5min walk if you are wanting a good meal, but having our own vehicle allowed us so many more options for eating and visiting different parts of the island.

A big thank you to all the staff. You were all so helpful and friendly, from the cleaners and the ladies providing breakfast to the wonderful hosts in the office. Ngā mihi nui from the Taylors in NZ. Ka kite ano!! Till next time.

This is a perfect spot, the beach is just across the road, the property and pool are scrupulously maintained, the continental/tropical breakfast is plentiful and the villas are spacious and very comfortable. Vikki and Naomi at Reception are very helpful and always cheerful. Kayaks and snorkel gear are free.

Room Tip: Villas furthest away from the pool and road are quieter and there's less foot traffic past them.

The airport transfer dropped us at our room, which was perfect. High ceilings, air-con and a ceiling fan keep it cool and airy. Lagoon Breeze provides breakfast and a two hour bar from 4:30 pm. So open walkable local alternatives were the cafe and supermarket, turn right out of the entrance and the Rarotongan Resort, turn left. The beach is across the road and offers crystal clear water for swimming, snorkelling, kayaking or just bobbing about. Alternatively, the on-site pool is fabulous. Buses run clockwise and anti-clockwise giving access all round the island.

The staff at Lagoon Breeze were awesome. Friendly and helpful, they made the stay here special.

We were there in July as well. We wore shorts and t-shirts while we were cycling and swam happily in the ocean. In the evening, we wore long trousers and took a sweater. Covered arms and legs kept the mosquitoes away too. The weather was very pleasant, enjoy!!

Kia Orana Emma Great to read you are travelling to Rarotonga in June. If you have not already made up your mind where you are staying I hope this information is of help. Both the Edgewater and Lagoon Breeze Villas are situated on the West so we both enjoy the sunsets. Lagoon Breeze Villas is a small property of only 24 villas and provides spacious self-contained villas with cooking facilities. A daily tropical breakfast is provided in the room rate and is served in our breakfast cafe. Each villa has it's own parking area, clothes line and separation between villas. Porta Cots, high chairs and a play area are also provided. The Edgewater is a large hotel and therefore offers restaurants and a kids club. Gluten free bread is available but is very expensive so if you can bring your own that would be an advantage. Wigmores Superstore stocks Little Island Coconut milk and a range of gluten free cereals etc. I hope this is of some help to you.

Car hire closes at 2pm on Sat. and Sun, { I think, so check] Most shops do too but Wigmores will be open later. You can catch the local bus just outside the accommodation.Car hire rates vary. Check before you go for best price. Reception can book for you and car will be delivered to hotel.

the pool was not as warm as the lagoon in September however it was warm enough for swimming. Will be even better in October. shouldn't need a mossie net as all of the windows have insect screens on them. Just need to make sure you don't leave the ranch slider doors open. maybe take one just to be on the safe side
