Quinta dos Cochichos is a family owned Guesthouse in a rural environment, but only 4 km away from the coast line and the Natural Park of Ria Formosa, where you will find several islands with long, sandy beaches away from the mass tourism. We offer a quiet and comfortable accommodation in 5 independent self catering cottages, in a natural and peaceful surrounding, framed by a big diversity of fruit and exotic trees spread over 1,5 hectares of land. Situated in Quelfes, a genuine countryside area about 12 km from Faro Airport and 4 km from the city of Olhão, we accommodate guests for the last 7 years, amidst the typical flora of the Algarve. Being an aficionado of the organic agriculture, the owner develops fruit trees, vegetables, teas and herbs, which guests may savour during their stay. The farm is yours.

We stayed 4 nights on this rural farm. We had the last end of the row apartment. Apartment had some internet issues and only able to get access on the 1st floor. The railing on the 1st floor is not secure and could by very dangerous. The walls are thin and we could hear everything going on in neighbouring apartment. TV had Portuguese channels only. Missed some living room space to sit and relax in. Rural settings were fine and peaceful.

Hello Lars, Thank you for your comment, even though it was a pity you considered it average :-) The internet issues you are describing were due to the fact that we changed from satelite TV (with 30 channels) to fiber TV.. The changes were made during the period you were here, they totally disconnected the satelite and therefore you could only see 4 channels, which are the 4 official portuguese channels. So now guests can enjoy 120 channels and much stronger wi-fi! As for the railing, you are right. Marc took a look and it needed to be reinforced. The constant use of it has made the screws a bit loose. It is now fixed, happy you told us! We always go through the apartments in the end of the season and check what has to be done. Hello maintenance :-) As for the walls, you are the first person telling us that, as this is an old house with very thick walls made of stone. Some places has walls that are 30 cm thick. I know this because when we renovated the house, we thought at first to destroy those thick walls and built new thinner ones to gain space. But in the end we left them as they were. Maybe you heard noises from the outside because tsome window was opened? As for the living room, you chose and apartment with 1 bedroom and 1 sofabed in the living room for your child. We have 2 bedrooms apartments as well, it would have been a better choice in your case. Some families prefer this 1-bedroom alternative as it is cheaper. Besides, the sofabed when opened, becomes a confortable a real bed, but of course, it takes space when it is opened. We had the most fantastic holiday ever at Cochios Farm - a little "heaven on earth" on rural portuguese countryside with the loveliest hosts Paula and Marc, who were as welcoming and warm as the hot late september sun... :-)... We had a fabulous week at Cochicos Farm. Lovely welcome from Marc and Paula who made our stay so perfect. Accommodation is lovely, everything you need and breakfast every morning brought to our cottage, fresh coffee and orange juice plus amazing bread, jams, ham and cheese. This is such a special place, so relaxing. The pool is great and our son just loved it! The fruit trees, the rustic charm, the peace and tranquillity makes it the perfect place to stay and location wise it is great to reach Olhao, Faro and Fusetta Beach. We loved Portugal and our stay at the farm made it so special. Marc and Paula are lovely and we enjoyed our chats, only wished we could have stayed longer! Thank you so much for everything and making our trip so special, we will definitely come back..miss it already! Jeni, Vincent and Leon :)…

We just spent a wonderful week with our two kids (two boys of 7 and 5) in cochichos farm. Marc and Paula are passionate and will make everything to make you feel at home. Very nice and clean house with everything you need, nice pool...Very good location, close to the most beautiful beaches in Algarve. Last but not least, the breakfast!!! Every morning we enjoyed a very good breakfast, perfect start for the day. I would really recommend this place !

This has been the second time we (family of four with two girls aged 15 and 10) stayed at Cochicos Farm and it was absolutely lovely again - it is a home away from home. Paula and Mark are fabulous hosts who run their guesthouse with true passion, dedication and attention to detail. The farm is an oasis of tranquility where you can relax and recharge batteries (the views across the courtyard when the sun sets over the trees will carry us through the dark Scottish winter), yet beautiful beaches, Olhao and Faro are just a short drive away. It certainly won't have been the last time that we have stayed at Cochicos Farm!
