This is a family run hotel that is now known as the Hotel Akroyiali and is located next to the beach. The room that we had was basic and adequate apart from the bathroom. This was the most compact washing facility ever seen and it is perfectly possible to shower whilst using the lavatory. It’s also worth noting that the double bed is actually two abutting single beds. The room we had included a balcony that overlooked Olympiada and was in the shade most of the day so it was a good place to get away from the sun and watch the world go by. The room can be noisy at night due to the adjacent restaurant however it does calm down around midnight and the rest of the night is peaceful. Breakfast was taken in the beach front restaurant and consisted on cheese, ham bread & jams and eggs with additions of fruit and cake. Service was efficient and the food was good. As we stayed half board, we ate in the restaurant for evening meals. The menu was extensive and the food was better than the usual Greek tavern fare and included a number of “family recipes”. Whilst the food was good it would be nice if the menu changed a little more from day to day to include new meals. Taking into account that this is a two-star hotel, it has a good location, the food is good and the service provided by Adonis exceptional.…
Olympiada is a proudly quiet and undeveloped haven. The Akroyiali was everything we wanted from a host. Well-serviced accommodation, close to the beach and with great views from the sea-view rooms. But what makes this place special is that it is family-run, proudly dating back to 1924. The family includes a generous and hands-on owner, a gifted chef, plus their charming and knowledgeable sons, daughter and close relatives, aided by staff who made our holiday memorable. If your idea of a Greek holiday is a small, family-run hotel serving fantastic home-cooked food, we would highly recommend the Akroyiali. The antidote to mass market tourism. Thank you very much for a memorable holiday. ❤️
Lovely small hotel on beautiful beach. Lots of great restaurants nest by. But this hotel also has very good food. You are half mile (kilometer) away from the birthplace of Aristotle. Room is small, charming with nice balcony. Also hotel has shaded tables where one can hangout for hours. This is not four star as in the US. Nonetheless, it is excellent place for reasonable price
My family really enjoyed hospitality in this hotel. We enjoyed excellent Greek cuisine (we are told they use old family recipes) in their restaurant. We only wish if the room we were in was slightly bigger, but other than that, everything was nice.
avoid room 11 - the room was cramped with a dreadful shower room - the shower curtain was outside the tray so the floor flooded as the sink also leaked - the way to the beach was via the smelly refuse bins which after the local feral dogs got at it over spilled - the beach was untended with rubbish on it and at the chapel end had a sewer smell - and the other end the beds were overlooked by the restaurant the food is over rated and definitely NOT the best available - the staff were sweet but Dimitris seemed only interested in taking money and attending to his obvious favourites - this restaurant with rooms attached (no reception or lounge denies the description Hotel) is saved by the balcony view in a lovely seaside bay - ok we enjoyed but we also endured
