Stayed two nights in September while touring the wine country in Alsace. This is a very pretty, lovingly-maintained property in a beautiful, peaceful spot, tucked up a long hill above the small (not particularly interesting) town of Freland. Our room and bath were comfortable, spacious, and spotless; our hosts warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable about the area; breakfast was tasty, varied,...

We feel so fortunate to have been able to stay at la Haute Grange for our two nights in Alsace. The property is a wonderful retreat from the summer heat and well located for visiting the highlights of the wine route. We were perfectly hosted by Margaret and Philippe who provided us with delicious breakfasts and useful tips as well...

The house is tucked away at the end of a narrow road on a hillside overlooking the valley. Upon arrival there is a warm welcome from Margareth and Philippe who show you the house: on the ground floor there are 2 lounges for the guests, and a breakfast room. On the first floor there are 4 guestrooms. All the rooms...

We just completed a three-night stay at La Haute Grange, tucked away in the fresh-air and coolness of the mountains just outside of Kaysersberg, near Colmar. Our hosts, Margaret and Philippe, couldn't have been more helpful, and charming too. The large room was simply gorgeous with a huge bathroom, all equipped with the most up-to-date amenities. And the breakfasts were...

Margaret and Philippe couldn't have been more welcoming. The location and the tasteful, thoughtfully appointed guest accommodation were wonderful, but what we enjoyed most was the friendly banter, interesting anecdotes and useful local information, in French and English, as we tucked into a copious breakfast. Fabulous host and hostess. Thank you.

A wonderful location, just outside the village with far-reaching views across the valley. The rooms have been decorated tastefully and everything you need is provided for you. Margaret and Philippe are delightful hosts who are happy to recommend places to eat and to visit in the surrounding areas. All of their recommendations hit the mark! Breakfasts are plentiful and there's...

Spectacular B&B. The accommodations are first class and the decor is "just right". Margaret & Philippe are the perfect hosts. Our third time with them (once in Normandy).. Breakfast is a marvel of choices. Alsace is wonderful at Christmastime......

From the moment Margaret and Philippe met at us their front gate until our final farewell, we felt like very special guests in their home. Other reviews certainly echo that sentiment. Lots of hard work and attention to detail went into making La Haute Grange such a wonderful house, but it is the owners who make it a home. Their...

Apologies Margaret and Philippe I meant to do this months ago! It was the most incredible place to stay, we loved absolutely everything and, in fact, would really like to keep it to ourselves but that's not fair! Just go..... amazing hosts, rooms, breakfasts, views........ Thank you for a wonderful stay. Moira & Stuart, Edinburgh

I can only echo what all other reviewers have said, this place is amazing. The best B&B experience we have ever had! The room was very spacious and well furnished. Margaret is very clever; she wakes her guests with the delicious aroma of freshly baked bread drifting through the heating vents! I felt the bed was a bit firm.
