Size of the room was sufficient although not luxurious. The mattresses were rather soft; this is maybe a matter of taste but we are used to much harder ones, so sleep could have been better. The room was very clean and the bathroom modern with a good shower.
The breakfast was very very good with plenty of choices and very tasty. The breakfast room was a bit small such that not every guest could get a table easily. Some items weren't available all the time, e.g. the delicious smoothies were out occasionally, being refilled only after a little longer waiting time. But all in all, the breakfast deserves a clear recommendation.
Breakfast was excellent - buffet style but good range.
Reception staff were really good - I arrived early afternoon as it was raining and I was cycling - they very kindly plonked me in the sauna to warm up as I was drenched and cold whilst my room was being made ready.
It was above all the room that was substandard and if you read previous reviews here, the same criticism recurs for more than a year. We stayed in dog rooms in detached building. The positive was to have your own entrance, which makes it easier when you have a dog. We also appreciated the kettle and coffee/tea in the room, as well as the slightly tempered elegance of the decor. But that's where the positive ends, unfortunately.
Aside from abrasive paint on walls, doors and frames, it is more serious that the shower curtain has black mold stains and red discolorations, and that the bathroom smells bad. In both rooms we stayed in several lights were broken and although the friendly receptionist tried to help us in the evening we only got a small light in the bathroom to light up. Several things in the rooms should be quite easy to fix, so it is hard to understand why it is not done when guests complained about this for a long time. The wifi was down all our stay did not give plus points either.
The rest of the manor has some newer parts, while others need to be freshened up. The restaurant is beautiful and here we had a really, really good dinner. The waiter was amazing! He had a lot to do, so we had to wait quite a long time for the dishes. Breakfast was basic with few dishes, but fresh and tasty.
At check-out we pointed out the shortcomings with the rooms, but the receptionist “was not allowed” to give any compensation but we were asked to email “the manager”, which we will do as well.
Our bathroom wasn't cleaned, the bathrobes we payed for wasn't in the room, we had to ask for it. The jacuzzi was not warm. I think it was just sad everything. We will not come back at any point or recommend your place to anyone, we will tell people to stay away from Ronnum.
It's a disaster that we had to pay for the night we spent there.
depressing room, poor isolation with loudly creaking and slamming doors making my dog scared every time a neighbour came or went. The broken ceiling lamp was full of dead bugs. For the same price as another customer pluss a dog-fee, I expected my room to be as cosy and pretty as the rest of the hotel. I was isolated from the rest of my company since they were able to stay in normal rooms, and I wanted to be in mine as little as possible. Apart from frequently being woken up by noise, my bed was good, and I appreciated the small fridge in the room. I'm not sure if I will return though, as long as I have my little dog.
The only thing that was a clumsiness in the protocol was that the hot tub did not work for 1 year.
Unfortunately, we did not have time to use the relaxation.
In one room there was a refrigerator, which made it easier for us when we had a small child with us
"Make sure you go to the relax area and sauna! So tranquil. :) The breakfast is great, get up in time to sit, eat and enjoy. 😊"Read full review
