I have stayed in 3 of the desert camps in this region and I should say this is the best especially if u'r travelling with family with kids. Their sheik tents are spacious with extra beds for kids, dinner buffet is good with live Omani Bedouin music, and more over they have a pool in the middle of the desert.... More

It's a camp in the desert of nowhere. So make up your mind and get ready for it. It's very remoted place. So don't forget to take your favourite books, music, drinks and perhaps snacks. Overall, I enjoyed my stay. Good meals which provide even fresh fruits which I never thought they would have them in the desert. Friendly service.... More

The camp was clean and well maintained, though in my opinion lacked atmosphere. I could have been anywhere once inside the camp. The rooms were OK, though not 'tents' as advertised. It was pleasant enough, though I would stay again.

We stayed two nights in the sheikh tent. We had a positive experience however, there are a few bugs, but once you are used to it there is no problem. The food is quite good and the fresh naan bread is amazing. The staff is very nice but make sire to plan a visit if you stay two nights as... More

Great location amongst the sand dunes; worth upgrading to the Ameer 'tent' for just £50 i.e. not a tent and good shower, no bath, comfortable beds. No alcohol so bring your own. Sand boarding good fun. Breakfast average minus, limited options. Dinner very good choices. Small pool.

Have stayed here twice. Stayed in sheikh tent both times. Comfortable. Showers worked fine - have no roof so you may be sharing with local insect population. 40km drive to camp is a great experience - 4x4 necessary either your own or camp can arrange pick up from gas station in Bidiyah (safe to leave your car) - I enjoyed... Really enjoyed our 1 night here. We were collected from the main town, let the tyres down and followed our guide for about 45 mins to the camp. There were quite a few people here, and clearly many tours, but the buffet dinner was incredible especially the Shuwa - slow cooked lamb, which was a little spicy and fell off... More

Pros: lots of activities to do; swimming (yes they have a swimming pool), camel riding (at a fee),sledding down the sand dunes, sunrise and sunset viewings, feeding gazelles horses bunnies and camels, dunes bashing, star gazings at night, playground for little kids. Cons: we booked ourselves the sheikh tent, and it doesnt have airconditioning. So avoid booking this tent between... More

A difficult drive to the camp even for an experienced adult driver. We were provided with a basic map and some sign posts showing directions to the camp exist, but we would have preferred clearer information as we were not always sure we had taken the right path. The public eating and sitting areas of the camp are lovely and... More

Brilliant desert camp, we managed the drive ok in our 4x4. Bonus having the pool there for the kids to cool down in when we arrived. Dinner was lovely, rice, chicken, bread etc, lovely puddings. Breakfast was great, chef cooking fresh omelettes and pancakes, I was worried about the food with two fussy children, but there was no need.
