Detailed Reviews
Arrived quite late at night after over an hour of delivering other guests to various hotels. We stayed in a standard room ground floor overlooking pool. However, all hotel rooms overlook the pool. There is a mini bar in the room, pricey. Rather stupidly on my part as nothing is ever free – beware. When you arrive in your room there are two bottles of water, bottle of wine and small box of pringles on a coffee table – I presumed how welcoming of the hotel to provide bottles of water etc. However, if touched they will be on your drinks bill.
Large bedroom, with a superking size bed. Linen, pillow, mattress and towels were all of good quality. Hairdryer in bathroom. Thick velvet curtains at the windows so morning light does not wake you if you want to have a lie in.
The hotel is like one big folly – with turrets, flags, suits of armour around the public areas. Made a change from the usual hotels we stay in. Lovely pool, plenty of sunbeds and cabanas. Pool towels supplied. Although music is played around the pool did not disturb me re reading a book, talking to people or going to sleep at night.
Very quiet, with the backdrop of mountains – wonderful for relaxing.
Breakfast – served 7am to 10am. Mostly cold meats and salad options. Omelette can be made. Love scrambled egg, but would insist in putting squashed tomatoes with it – goodness knows why. Please note pop music while eating breakfast is not appropriate something a little quieter.
Lunch – if staying at hotel during the day sandwiches can be ordered from the North Shore Pub/Bar. Always enjoyed the steak sandwiches and usually served by Maria who was always smiling. Great place in the evening especially if you like cocktails!
Only disappointment was the main restaurant. Waiters were always friendly and welcoming, but the food. What a disappointment. Everything is covered in a sauce, from the cauliflower, beans, fish, meat and also everything is cut up very small from the fish, chicken etc. After the fourth day it just tasted all the same. Fortunately within a 5 mins walk along the main road are a number of eateries, where you can have fresh fish, steak, lamb chops etc.
There is also a small market on Saturday morning, mostly ex pats running stalls selling homemade cards, cakes, etc.
To go further afield (Kyrenia) you can hail a dolmus either outside the hotel on the road every 10/15 mins or walk to the main road (another 5 mins) where a dolmus can be hailed every 5 mins. Cost is approx. ÂŁ1.20 per person each way. If you wish to go further afield like Nicosia then get off the Kyrenia dolmus at the last stop and get a combus to Nicosia (ÂŁ1.20 per person each way). The combus (same size as dolmus) are 10 feet away on the same side of the road.
Spa is being built as I write. Apparently hotel not quite sure what to do with the large space behind pool – may I suggest a children’s pool away from the main pool.

Stayed a night at this newly renovated hotel. Very quiet in February but still very nice. The decor is superb. Only thing is it is a bit secluded and you definitely need a car. If you don't mind being a bit out of the way this is a lovely place to stay and relax.

On arrival at 2.00am we were very disappointed to be taken a trek across the hotel grounds to a duplex 'bungalow ' with a filthy couch, no curtains to close and with a poorly maintained interior, not at all the standard room within the hotel that we were expecting. Our request to be moved to decent accommodation fell on deaf ears that night, so we made do. However, the following morning our knight in shining armour appeared in the guise of the Cyprus Paradise Rep, Yousuf, who was attentive to our complaint and within a short time he had us moved to a lovely room within the hotel of the standard that we had expected. From then onwards things were on the up. The food was lovely, although there was a limited choice. We also had a few lunches which were exceptional. The hotel grounds have the backdrop of the mountains which lend to the peaceful and relaxing ambience. A good place to chill out and unwind. Apparently Yousuf is a very good dancer !! he is a really lovely rep.

Prior to COVID we stayed at this hotel twice a year…January and September, we booked B/B this time. When we arrived we had to pay full amount for 2 Rooms for 3 nights. We went to our rooms…..both tv’s did not work, one room broken kettle with lid that didn’t shut, same room no pillowcases on bed pillows. Went to complain, nobody spoke English, we got the shoulder shrug and a grin. First morning we went to find breakfast…..nothing to be seen anywhere, the guy on the desk told us to go sit outside, we sat at table and were bought four coffees, two plates of cold meat and cheese, and two plates of bread, jam, and two boiled eggs (for four people!). Went to complain….nobody understood English. At this point realised we didn’t stand a chance in hell of getting a refund to be able to go elsewhere. Day 2 went and complained about kettle, and pillowcases, went across road to pay to get a breakfast. Went out for the day, came back and pillowcases on, kettle changed but dirty cleaning rags left on bathroom wash basin., still no tv for both rooms. In the other room the bed pillows were left on top of the cupboard rather than on the bed…Day 3 …check out day, waited for the supposed manager on duty to arrive to request a refund for breakfasts that we had paid for but not received, he then admitted he was not the manager and he could give me the managers number but he didn’t speak English either, also they could not give a refund. I will be trying to get a refund but, will never go back to this poor excuse for a hotel again.

Visited from the 9th til the 16th of August with my girlfriend. Arrived in the night time to a clean and we'll presented lobby and main reception area where we were given our room key. Finding the room was simple and when we opened the door to see the size of it we were plesently surprised to find a bathroom, sitting room and maisonette style bedroom upstairs because pictures online only suggest a standard type room!
Waking up in the morning and went out onto the balcony to be greeted by a towering mountain range which we couldn't see the night of arrival...stunning!
Food was great as there were vast amount and different things to try...alot of people will moan because it's not what they are used to, my opinion, if you don't wanna try new things you may as well stay at home!!! Dirty plates were cleaned instantly and water was topped up immediately so great service there!
Pool was awesome, warm, clean, two tiered so child friendly, life guard on duty when the sun is shining (all day) so was a nice place to cool off! Water aerobics was enjoyable, energetic and one of the highlights for us because the lads got everyone involved!! Even if anyone was reluctant to join, they would be thrown in anyway which was quite funny to watch and be a part of!
Hotel grounds were lovely with plenty of seating and a big field which is used as an open air cinema on Tuesday and Thursday so great to do under the stars...
Staff were great and cannot be faulted in my opinion. Helpful and personal touches just made it a great place to be, made some real friends here and would definitely be on my lost of places to revisit...
DON'T be put off by the moaners who just come on here to give harsh reviews and lower ratings, this place is a real Cypriot gem and would recommend it to any of my friends or family members!
5* all day!
Ps. Visit Calamari for dinner one night, lovely place, cheap but high quality...

We visited friends in northern cyprus recently and stayed for a week at Chateau Lambousa, the hotel rooms are stunning,5* accomodation, beds are huge, bathrooms are lovely and clean.. cleaners do a very good job. The staff are so friendly, cant do enough to help. The view from the room is gorgeous, sea or mountain... we had a sea view and a lovely little balcony. The grounds of the hotel are impeccable, lovely large swimming pool and loungers all around. Really cannot fault. Booking to visit again early september!

I stayed here for ten days, big nice room with a huge comfortable bed, and also a terrace overlooking the pool. All personnel is kind, smiling and efficient. Too bad I got bad weather, too cold to dive in the pool.
Definitely a good stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Le Chateau Lambousa and have to give it full marks for the price we paid from Cyprus Paradise, if I were to be really picky then I would say that some of the staff require a little more supervision, but it is not their fault as they are mostly students from the local university which owns the hotel, and they are working to pay for their tuition and board.
We were also approached by one of the senior staff after returning from a day out to be told that we were not allowed to take our own drinks (even water) into our room which had been purchased outside the hotel, however this is not mentioned anywhere in the hotel literature or on their website and we were not told during check in.
If you have booked through Cyprus Paradise please be aware that the spa and indoor pool are not yet open and neither is the beach club as is mentioned on their website but not the hotel's.

What a surprise this was.
It is possibly the most unusual place I have ever stayed in.
It has a complete Mediaeval theme throughout complete with suits of armour scattered around the areas.
We liked the fact that it was a bit out of the way as it was very quiet and perfect for some relaxation.
The food seemed a little basic initially but did improve through our stay.
The Front Office Manager lady Safak is most attentive and will always do her best to assist you whatever your requests.
We booked through Cyprus Paradise and were lucky enough to get Yousif as our local Representative who did a good job and was very amusing with it.
Most of the staff were fine but there was one or two that obviously did not want to be at work.
Overall a unique place to stay and will be revisiting on our next trip to Cyprus.

First impressions are good and the restoration of the hotel appears well-thought out with a high end spec. However, after having lunched at the Chateau twice I realise that looks here are really deceptive. On my first visit I foolishly ordered the 'Combo' platter which was described as being 'non pastry' yet appeared covered in a tasteless variety of overcooked and battered beige lumps of nothingness. I thought I Would try again guessing that such a potentially interesting place could not be so bad again - but no! I ordered Spaghetti Vongole on my return assuming that they couldn't mess with a classic Italian dish; but I was wrong - they did. On top of the bland past sauce was a heap of mussels rather than clams as advertised and is traditional. The previously frozen mussels made me feel apprehensive about continuing with the meal and i quickly abandoned it? my wife had A Tartine of shrimp and advocado which was equally disappointing. The barest scraping of advocado on toast was heaped with onion and unwanted onion skin peelings. it was also accompanied by unwanted and unadvertised chilli flakes. Again, the lunch was a mess. The lunch menu is over-priced compared to other very good local restaurants and hotels. The drinks are over priced also. Service is slow and amateurish and whilst I appreciate that it is a training establishment they really must improve if they can be able to justify such prices in any otherwise very affordable and reputable region. I complained to the inept barman who did not offer any kind of real apology or refund -The whole experience was very poor indeed.

Yes In the main building there is lift access to the upper floors
we had bed and breakfast, the breakfast was served in the dungeon and the food wasn't very good we stayed 10 nights and only had the breakfast once as it was not worth getting up for. The lunches were ok but as they took so long to serve you we were fed up by the time we got to eat it. I hope this helps :)
We stopped there last week in one of the bungalows and from our
experience it was great, we walked outside to the balcony and there was
the pool :) As far as the room was concerned ours was clean neat and
tidy. also in a good state of repair. We had no bugs whatsoever and I
think you'll have a good time
