Detailed Reviews
We stayed there as a family of three. The location is highly convenient to explore nearby sights such as Grand River South-East and Trou d'Eau Douce. Also unlike other comparable accommodation EvaZion offers both breakfast and dinner.
Owners are very helpful, thanks to Mr. Laverdure's recommendations we were able to enjoy a nice walk (around 6 kilometres) taking us deep into sugarcane fields towards a waterfall. Upon request the owners are also able to make arrangements for facilities such as kayak and boat trip to the waterfall on Grand River South-East.
Room was clean and wifi internet was decent. You couldn't possibly ask for more: for its pricing, EvaZion provides great value for money. There is even a swimming pool which guests are allowed to use, as well as a hammock and benches on the river bank where you can relax.
Be mindful of a few things: the heat and humidity which can be extremely disturbing in the early months of the year and the presence of mosquitoes. Visitors should take all the usual precaution measures against these (hats, caps, sunscreen, mosquito repellent).

I cannot recommend Evazion enough. Since day 1 I was impressed by the warm welcome from Mr Laverdure and all the people who work there - the cleaners, the cooks, the helpers.
At Evazion we felt like we were paying a visit to family members. Such was the hospitality of our host.
The rooms were clean and spacious.
We had an excellent dinner (fish curry, vegetables, faratas etc) and breakfast (crepe, egg, fruits, gato pimen, gato banane etc) in the package.
I had one of my best weekend since a long time. I spent quality time in nature kayaking, dozing on the hammock or trekking to Beau Champs waterfall.
I look forward to my next visit at Evazion!

The owner are available and welcoming. The rooms are super clean, big and beautiful. The food is on point and you even have nice entertainment during diner. You have free kayak at your disposition and can go whenever you want to the cascade with them. Beautiful waterfall not far from the place. I went with my family. The stay was amazing.

Went there with a couple of friends last weekend and our getaway was ruined by the host’s attitude.
Mr Laverdure was impolite, rude, judgmental and most of all very hypocritical(changed attitude when he realized that he knew one member of the group). I can’t stop thinking what it would have been otherwise.
I will not recommend this place and will never go there again.
This place has a great potential but the host has to do some questioning I think. Customers don’t pay to be threatened and treated like this WITHOUT ANY REASON. (Started from the moment we crossed the door)

Value for money. Relaxing time.
Enjoy the river view. The owner who is really friendly and welcoming, guided us to a secluded waterfall worth the hike. The hike is easy and uneventful.
The room has all facilities that you require during your stay. Complimentary breakfast and diner given.

This lodge remains an iconic place due to its location, however, the service experience was poor! The pools were also not cleaned regularly, least there were constructions going on in the vicinity during our stay. A below average experience for the price we paid!

The hotel is very clean and has everything you need for a comfortable stay e.g. air conditioning and 2 separate pools at the guest houses as well as your own access to the river.
The kayaks are free to use - other people pay money to go to the water fall by boot.
Jean Claude and the hole stuff are very friendly and helps you or give recommendations (what to do / where to go) whenever you want.
If needed, Jean Claude will organize Taxi or boat transfer to Ile aux cerf directly from the location.
If you have rental car, it is the perfect location for 4-6 days to see all destinations in the south.
Our second stay is in Grand Baie where we will visit all other locations in the north.

Hi,
1.Your planning for the first day is good.Your can also have a walk in the village and cross the river in a free ferry to visit the opposite village.
2.Usually we advise our guests to visit the waterfall by kayak in the morning before 9.30am or after 4.30pm as there is no much traffic along the way to the waterfall during that time.During the day,you can relax by the two swimming pools and by the riverside. We can discuss when you arrive so that we arrange for other things to be done on the 2nd day.
3.we can arrange your trip to ile aux cerfs on the 3rd day.The boat will pick you up directly at Evazion.
4.On your last day you can go by bus either to Blue Bay beach or Belle Mare beach. An hiking along the nearby mountains can also be arranged.
