Spectacular location & a remarkable place to stay for a calm & serene vacation, with all the expected amenities. Perfectly placed rooms with balconies, overlooking a beautiful swimming pool (most rooms are sea facing as well), a small but neat private beach, a well stocked bar and a restaurant serving variety of cuisines to appease any palate. A very helpful & courteous staff added to the splendor.

Slightly far from the main towns, but that's what we needed for a quite getaway. To move out for sight seeing etc., the transportation is slightly expensive and you need to shell out Mauritian Rupees 2.5 to 3K per day to get a car for a full day (9:00 AM to 4:30 PM), with driver. If you are lucky, you get a good driver as we got on all the days except one day.

Important tip : Just choose the right time of the year as summer months are real bad to visit Mauritius and one cannot enjoy water sports, one of the major attractions there or else you get severe sun burns. The summer months vary from other parts of the world & December - January are said to be one of the hottest months.

My partner and I travelled from the West Coast to find this beautiful hotel hidden away remotely on the east coast, which is a little cooler and windier. The hotel appears quite roomy with lots of thatch roofing and we were allocated a lovely well appointed and spacious sea-view room on the ground floor where we could walk out onto a garden near the pools. The room was well cleaned and stocked daily.
The food is 5* with an excellent selection at all meals and I particularly liked the subtle seasonings/flavourings in the meals particularly the curries/dahls and soups which were excellent without being too hot but you can add more spices easily
We saw very little of the manager who appeared, quietly, briefly and occasionally and it quickly became evident that his superb deputy, Kevin, was quietly assuming more responsibility and the day before a Cyclone was due I spotted him on site, with his two sons, make a phone call which resulted in immediate action by his staff to "batten down the hatches"
He and his able assistant Aviven were also prominent on New Years Eve/New Years Day with dismantling/re building the Entertainment area and providing a wonderfully superb dinner and entertainment on New Years Eve, against the odds. The bar staff, particularly Cowtan and his slightly older "double" run an efficient bars and the majority of staff seem happy; smiling and helpful, although it's difficult to name them all as their identity badges are unreadably small.
There are down sides and this is that parts of the hotel, particularly the pools are looking dated but I am informed as it is 10 years old in April 2020 that in compliance with Mauritian Law a massive upgrading policy is already planned particularly involving turning the Stage around so I hope this occurs and does not increase the cost of returning too much. I hope it also includes an additional covered room to enjoy an after dinner drink with a sea view
We loved it and hope to return

I Took my wife here for a surprise Birthday, never ever been to Mauritius before you are always thinking did I book the Right Place.
Arriving at the airport we made our way to the hotel.
When we arrived we were meet with a smile and booked in. We were then taken to our room by a member of the desk staff who explained everything on the way to the room as well as showed us about.
The room was a good size and clean and comfortable with a lovely view.
After a wash we made our way down to the bar area.
The bar was run by Gowtam who was a lovely guy, helpful all the time, nothing was a problem. A young guy Deepak when he
is at the bar makes wonderful cocktails my wife never drank so many different types of different colours, thank you.
The Managers Avisen and Suraj were so helpful you could not wish for more.
Any issue or Problem with dietary needs were not a problem they worked around it a made it their personal task to sort anything out for you.
All the staff could not do more for you, every little thing was taken care of.
I even sat down with the General Manager Mr Sunil Chumbhit and told him what a wonderful stay we had.
Well Done Laguna Beach a home away from home.
Now a family away from England.
Some of the staff went back to India after training, if you also read this a big thank you to you all.

Hotel is based on the East coast of the island, the windy side, adjacent a small fishing village. There is nothing to do outside the hotel, there are no local restaurants or shops to go and browse, the nearest town "Flaque" is 20 minutes taxi away, where you will find the nearest ATM, hotel does not change money.

The hotel public areas are all clean and generally well present, the pools is a reasonable size with a depth of 1.2m no chance of drowning. The beach area is adequate - small for the size of the hotel is kept tidy and there is never a shortage of sunbeds so no need for that ridiculous towel dash to spoil the holiday. There is no other beach close by or adjacent.

Our room was clean and basic perhaps a little old and tired but generally OK, we met others at the resort who had the beach style huts running side on to the main hotel and those rooms looked very nice. Our room had a balcony which had a sea view but overlooked a small holding with chickens and cockerels and every morning at daybreak the cockerel would kick in.

The food at the hotel is varied in what they serve however the majority of what is served is Bland, Tandori chicken is just chicken with a red tint to it, Lamb Rogan Josh is just lamb with no sauce there is a tofu curry which tastes of absolutely nothing.

Trips out can be expensive starting around £100/person /trip, however the hotel runs a boat trip free of charge to a small island just up the coast which is well worth a try.

Laguna Beach Hotel & Spa met and surpassed our expectations. I was there with my brother and we were extremely satisfied with our stay and the service offered. The staff was very welcoming & helpful. Rooms were clean and spacious and overall the hotel has many facilities in terms of necessities & entertainment.

We were very satisfied with the food and beverages as well but maybe dinner buffet can be improved. We were there on a Thursday and main course for that night was Kofta Curry, Chicken Curry & Beef Curry. So if you don't like curry, your option for that night was salad, pumpkin soup & grilled fish.
On the other hand, there was a wide variety of dishes for breakfast & lunch :)

One thing I would advise people to be careful from is the boathouse. When you are booking complimentary water activities, the staff there would propose you paid ones as well - hosted by third party, the hotel has nothing to do with it. We booked parasailing & tube ride and once we were on the platform for parasailing after the tube ride, they told us that they made a mistake on the price and it is actually higher and if we don't agree, they'll take us back to the mainland. They could see how excited we were to do it and that we were going to pay. I believe they do that to a lot of customers because they would not let us pay before we had done all the activities. Also, the amount of time for the tube ride & parasailing was very little for the amount paid.

The Laguna Beach hotel is a surprise find at the end of a road that keeps you guessing.

The all inclusive deal is well worth it and our room was spacious and comfortable with easy access to the pool and beach.

The pool is magnificent but the beach swimming and snorkeling are below par.

The staff are mostly friendly with the exception of the housekeeping staff who are a cut above the rest. They made us feel welcome and gave us a surprise when they decorated our bed with beautiful flowers and garden cuttings.

The food could have been more creative when it comes to breakfast and the coffee is well below average. We enjoyed the abundance of seafood available for lunch and dinner.

The music after dinner could be managed much better so people are encouraged to linger and dance. The DJ was terrible.

All in all a reasonable stay in a three star hotel.

Lovely small hotel, which we like. Well laid out gardens and massive swimming pool. Beach was a major disappointment, it looks like perfect white sands in the photos but it was concrete with sand over and very thin in places The beach was small which was fine but you could only swim up to the barrier, assume because of the passing boats. No problem in finding a sunbed on the beach but the ones by the pool went quickly, especially the ones with umbrellas. The food was OK, themed nights every night and something different to eat. But not amazing. We asked for a room 304 on the top floor which we were given but it was over the restaurant/ entertainment so a bit noisy. Staff were all really friendly, but it seemed that at meal times, your plate was either cleared as soon as you put your cutlery down or left for a while. You can't walk along the beach as it is in a lagoon and I wouldn't want to walk on the roads as pavements seemed none existent and drivers were mad. We booked through mercury but trips seemed expensive, instead we booked a local taxi from reception at over half the price. Well worth a trip to the south of the island. For all inclusive, only a selection of local spirits and cocktails are included.

I have just returned from a 2 week all inclusive stay at the Laguna beach hotel and it really didn’t disappoint.
From the moment we arrived at the hotel the staff could not go out of their way more to ensure that you had the best stay possible.
Greeted with a refreshing punch at reception and given a tour of the hotel.
We upgraded to a deluxe room which was cleaned every day. Yes there were limited hangers but lots of baskets and drawers that were more than adequate.
The catering staff clearly worked hard daily ensuring plenty of fresh food and a different cuisine every day. There was always something that you could eat. A special mention to the lady who makes epic omelettes and works the grill. Great burgers and always smiling!! I’ve put on nearly a stone in two weeks, so make your own mind up.
The bar staff also worked really hard keeping the cocktails flowing and then happy on lots of occasions to bring the cocktails over to you at your sun lounger.
Avi the general manager was outstanding always a friendly face and happy to help you with anything you need.
The pool is amazing. Yes on cooler days was not warm but it is winter in Mauritius!!!
The views are second to none of the mountains, the sea and harbour.
It is a tranquil fishing village so if you are looking for nightlife it’s not here!!!
That said if you want to venture out anywhere whether it be day trips or for a meal the hotel taxis are always available. Their day trip rates are so reasonable and they take you to additional spots as are very proud to tell you about their country and culture which was a nice touch.
The beach is very well maintained and the staff work tirelessly to ensure it’s clean. Unfortunately seaweed does appear courtesy of Mother Nature, however we watched the workers graft endlessly to ensure it was cleared. The seaweed does not affect you swimming though and the overall enjoyment of the beach.
Entertainment is limited but one thing it does not do is go on late and it is not so loud to stop you having an early night as we did several times.
I’ve read some of the negative reviews and guess some people you just can’t please. This hotel is great value for money and I would highly recommend if you want a relaxing and tranquil holiday.

For a hotel that has opened after 11 months, one would have expected the hotel to have fully trained staff with customer service to be at the top of the game but that was not the case. Despite sending an email with the details, check in took more than 20 minutes. The people at reception seemed absolutely clueless of how it was done ( despite there being 4 people at a time). We were given the impression that they were attending to other things rather than checking us in. We asked for a room with a view, got one, but it was accompanied with people repairing the metal roof and noise. So instead of admiring the view, we had people doing construction work in front of us rather than a sea view. Those people could just have stepped onto our balcony, no privacy at all. When it came to "goute", only crepes were available. Not much of an option there. On the other hand, the guys at restaurant were really nice. Hats off to them.

Stayed here in September for 2 weeks all inclusive. The hotel is small but lovely, no rushing for sun beds, no rushing for anything! Location is good for relaxing but if you want to walk or explore you'll need transport.

We did walk into the village and waterfall with the entertainment guy but that's as far as you can go. Lack of activities by the team, they advertise things yet do not fulfil these. Lack of anything on an evening which was a let down.

Bar closed at 10.30pm which was unusual but the staff work so very hard. We found that all the staff barring reception would do anything to make you happy. Reception staff never seemed to want to help, always gave the answer as later or sorry can't help yet ask someone else and it was never an issue.

We were very disappointed on our last day when one of the bellboys came over and out right asked for a tip which we found embarrassing and rude, especially that he hadn't done a single thing for us the whole holiday and we only ever saw him in passing. We tipped who and when we wanted.

We loved the free boat trip to the island and enjoyed the rum. Definitely do this. The beach in the hotel is man made and can walk into the water, what I will say is be careful when swimming in the sea at hotel as the free boat does come back to this area and parks up. We felt this shouldn't happen as it should be reserved for the guests to swim without worrying a speedboat will come crashing in.

The food was lovely and in our opinion always like home cooked food rather then lots of different little things, as well as fresh salads and meat cooked each day. Again if there wasn't anything you liked staff would make you something else! Just ask.

Was a lovely 2 weeks just for relaxing
