We were delighted to have booked our holiday to Smartline Mediterranean at a great price and we knew that we’d been lucky at the time of booking. Flights and transfers went ahead mostly according to plan. The welcome at the hotel was faultless, the hotel staff are very friendly, helpful and good-humoured. The hotel is very close to 2 supermarkets and the beach. The hotel is clean, the rooms are well-serviced and the fridge in the room is very welcome. The air conditioning is sufficient even considering the high temperatures and the bathrooms are perfectly adequate. Towels are changed and bins emptied daily. The beaches are vast! And there’s a lovely breeze coming off the sea - very welcome at 35 degrees. The sea is warm at the shore and there’s no shudder when you get in! There is a fair bit of green stuff at the shore though but you can hop over that. Sand banks mean that there is plenty of room to paddle/swim/play bat and ball without being close to anyone else or getting out of your depth. But... beware the jellyfish!! Beautiful blue jellyfish that guard the line where the sea changes from shallow to deep. A sting is no worse than nettles though. The way the beaches/sun beds seem to work is that as long as you buy a drink, sunbeds have no hire charge. They are plentiful and you’ll get your drinks etc brought directly to your sunbed! The area is completely flat so walking along the coast to the next hotel or village is a lovely thing to do. There are wide pavements all the way. In Paralia, the shops and restaurants are completely geared up towards holiday-makers. From Eastern Europe. People speak English and are very friendly but don’t expect the kind of menu you’d find on, say, one of the islands. Having said that, food and drink are very reasonable. 2 main courses and plenty of house wine will not cost more than 25 Euros. But... (another but)... we were half board and ate out almost every night. The food at the hotel is plentiful but not great. Not hot enough and a bit biased towards dishes that include more fat and/or cheese than might be anticipated. The staff are always smiley and prompt with their service but we found we were struggling to select food we’d enjoy. The breakfasts were better than the evening meals though - if you’re a fan of fresh bread you’re in luck! Tea is not quite the same in Paralia and we’re were glad we’d brought our teabags. We took a day trip to Meteora - mostly because we didn’t fancy a trip earlier in our 1 week holiday - and it was really interesting. The scale of the scenery is well worth seeing and the little monasteries with the wires between are unique. Passing through the mountain range of Mount Olympus shows the spectacular difference between the plains and the mountains. The travel time to get there is a bit disproportionate though, a lot of hours on the coach - check details before you book. A short walk down the hill from the recommended lunch stop is a fab, chilled bar/restaurant so don’t feel obliged to eat where they recommend if the menu doesn’t float your boat. Transfers back to the airport are timely and efficient. All in all, a lovely holiday in a place where escape from a busy life and relaxing completely is very easy. The niggles re food do not spoil or taint the holiday but there is certainly room for development if the British travel companies are serious about their involvement in the Olympus Riviera becoming permanent.

We had a nice holiay as this hotel was a good choice. Very close to the beach and that was the most important for us. Hotel itself very clean we could not find any fault in this case. The hotel facilities are very good. Most impotantly I have to say on the highest level about the staff members. The lady who cleaned our room was superb, very helpful and polite.Thanks.Receptionists were always smilling polite and helpful, bar and restaurant staff also very professional. I gave overall rating 4/5 because of the FOOD.We are not professional culinarists so we were not waiting for fine dining or michelin star menu. But the food somtimes was below the average. We can say that uneatable lukewarm, greasy and tasteless. The worst breakfast coffee we ever drank. Would we visit this hotel again? We would like to visit again if there the food quality slightly improves.

Have just got home after an amazing holiday away with the family and I honestly cannot fault the hotel, staff, area or the holiday all round. We chose to hire a car so we arrived a little later than the transfer of the other guests, however we were greeted with cake and drink by Stella, who also assured us that the aircon was already on in our rooms as they knew it was a long travel. The rooms were so lovely and cosy with them being cleaned with new towels, bedsheets everyday. The staff would always put their guests first. Anything you needed, they would help you with! My mum unfortunately fell over and sprained her ankle mid trip and they were making sure she had ice to put on it and was ok constantly. All the staff here were so interested in what you had done with your day and would give you ideas for the next. The hotel was just a few minutes walk from the beach where you had so many shops, restaurants and bars. Especially visit Omilos beach bar where the staff are as welcoming as the hotel staff! Drink and food at the hotel was lovely, catered for everyone and drinks were served to you wherever you were sitting. I could go on forever about my week here as it was incredible, ALL staff at the hotel were so friendly, helpful and welcoming but a HUGE thank you to Stella who welcomed us and made sure we were happy overtime she saw us, Stavros who would spend time to speak to us everyday about what we had done and telling us about the area and Anastasia who I know I have made a friend in for life! Always smiling and wanting to help guests every single one of them. Thank you to you all for an incredible week, we will be back next year for sure!!

Well to start off with the good points- the reception staff were lovely and friendly and the hotel is in a fantastic location very convenient for local bars/restaurants and the town centre itself. It’s also a 2 minute walk down to the beach which is a very very busy one. The bad points- when we walked into our room it absolutely stank of fags and as a non smoking couple it just wasn’t nice, the room was filthy and very hot, the air conditioning isn’t upto much so you have to sleep with the patio door open and we’ve been eaten alive by the mosquito’s. The food was awful and exactly like all the other reviews have said it is only luke warm, we didn’t bother eating here at all as it was that appalling. The pool is very small and there are only 4 sun beds there which you find people reserve which isn’t fair. If your on the sun bed all day spending money on drinks in the bar then you get treated very well but if you only have the odd drink there then you don’t get the iced glasses or the snacks on the table. So obviously money talks. The bedrooms them selves are ok as you would expect from a 3star hotel. They are dusty, hair in the plug holes and just generally unfinished in the quality. The bed base itself was filthy and the bathroom’s were tiny. The balconies at the front of the hotel had there glass cleaned daily where as ours had bird crap on it the whole time we were there. I highly recommend going to the sister hotel which is 1 1/2 miles walk along the beach road you get to use the sun beds for free and get 10% off the food. Paralia itself is lovely but don’t expect English food and English speaking people, it hasn’t yet been discovered by many brits it is aimed more at the Romanians and polish.

Have come on a desperately needed holiday with family and have to say the best hotel was definitely booked. We hired a car and as soon as we arrived we were met by Stella and given a freshly made cold lemon drink and serving of cake. Informed that someone had put the aircon on in the room before we arrived was a huge plus. The rooms are lovely, clean and with daily clean towels and bedding an added bonus in this heat. Nothing was too much for the staff here everyone so friendly and welcoming, keen to know how we had spent our day and if we were enjoying our holiday especially Stavros who found us everyday to ensure we were all on. The hotel is situated just on the outskirts of the action, very close to the beach, bars and shops. Every local was friendly and drinks were served with an abundance of free snacks. The food in the hotel is a buffet and there was a varied choice, not always to my taste but plentiful and replenished well. Plates were cleared quickly and again in a very friendly manner. All drinks were served straight to where you were seated. I would highly recommend this lovely small hotel with 5* service from all staff. Somewhere I would recommend and definitely come back to again and again. Thank you for the relaxing and recuperating holiday I needed.
