The area inside Fort Pickens is lovely and the beach is gorgeous but if you are camping in a tent as we did, the 100 degree temps can be oppressive. I definitely feel our site (B6) was the best you could get for a tent. It was set back under some massive trees with nothing behind the trees until you... More

My family and I stayed 1 night at Fort Pickens Campground before going on to stay 4 nights at Camp Gulf. We really enjoyed touring the fort and the beach was amazing. We saw many different types of plants and crabs. The camp sites are nice, some of them are close together, but many of them have tons of surrounding... More

If you want beautiful beach and plenty of it, come camp here! We drove through the campground and found it to be level, clean, and well kept, but the biggest feature is it is right on the narrow part of the island with bay on one side and pristine, unspoiled beach on the other. It isn't fancy, but it is... More

I was very apprehensive about driving all the way from Texas to Florida to camp at a place I had never been to before. We pulled into the campgrounds after an 11 hour road trip and were NOT disappointed! The check in office personnel were quick, friendly and informative - answering all of my questions before I could even ask.... More

To get to the Campground, you have to enter the National Park, so there is a fee of $15.00 per car load, or a weekly fee. Because we are National Park Pass holders, we did not have to pay the entrance into the Park itself. We spent a week here over 4th of July and would recommend staying here to... More

I stayed at this campground for a total of 3 days with some friends. A very nice area with restroom and shower service on multiple sites. I enjoyed this campground because they allow dogs. The campsites are easily assessable, and a few camp sites are shaded with trees so the humidity isn't a dread for the whole stay. We personally... More

My first trip and was so pleased! Stayed with friends on lot E-56. Nice & shady loop. Close to the bathrooms, bay trail, & overflow parking. Across from camp host. Still close enough for a short walk to the campground store located at the entrance. This is a super clean campground including the bathrooms. Family oriented. Quiet days & nights.... More

Loop C - lot of traffic out on our loop and very dangerous for kids on bikes - a few obeyed the 5 mph limit that is enforced by one host but many did not....she will not hesitate to ticket - no shade - tight camps- horrible dirty showers - camp hosts not friendly - we were 3 families (12)... More

We tent camped for 2 nights in site B-1. It had plenty of shade there and was close to bathrooms and camp store. Bathrooms in B loop were pretty good - there was hot water in the showers and it seemed fairly clean, although the trash was not emptied regularly. The bathhouse in E-loop was brand-new and even had a... More

Fort Pickens is a great campground with a family with young kids or just a couple wanting to go to the beach. My son brings his bike and rides the campground's roads, when we aren't on the beach. The sites are all even. Due to storms, there's not that many trees around the sites. So, you have to search to... More
