Staff was friendly, but that's the best that can be said. At $600+ nightly, you would expect a higher level of quality. While staying there I witnessed one of the most nasty displays ever behind the bar in the lobby. A tank top wearing male employee was exposing his underarms in aggressive manner, in the face of a female bartender. In front of guests. Simply disgusting. The most memorable part of the stay? Not quite. . I will say that the rooms are comfortable. Well appointed and clean. Mattresses were good. View of the Gulf compliments of God. Can't give the hotel credit there. The restaurant is one of those order, pay, take a number and go sit at a table somewhere operations. Did I mention the rooms were $600 per night? Food was decent and servers were attentive enough. The most memorable incidents were both involving housekeeping. Housekeeping manager needs to be terminated for the attitudes of staff, IMHO. First incident was at the pool bathroom. I jumped out of the pool heading to the nearest bathroom. I had no time to wait. A female housekeeper was entering to clean the bathroom at the same time I was attempting to enter. At 4 and 5 star hotels, the guest would be allowed to zip in. In this case, the housekeeper literally threw her arms across the doorway to prevent me from entering while loudly exclaiming "NO" as she angrily glared. Unprofessional to say the very least. OK, housekeeping incident number 2. But first, I had not earlier mentioned that this hotel wishes to charge a premium for the privilege of being a guest, but also wishes to save a ton of money by only occasionally servicing your room. Pay more, get less? A really great deal for the owners. I will say that you could always get clean towels delivered to the room when needed. Since housekeeping was not going to service our room, I left the "Do Not Disturb" placard on the door the entire stay. How coincidental that at 9:30 am on the morning of checkout, I hear a knock on the door. I opened the door to find a housekeeper there, asking when we were to check out. Checkout is 11 or 12, and we were actually nearly ready to leave. I asked the housekeeper why she knocked before checkout deadline with a DND on the door? I looked down and to my surprise, the DND placard that had remained faithfully on the door for four solid days had mysteriously disappeared. Amazing! In sum, I would consider staying at this poorly run, overpriced, mismanaged hotel if it were the only available place to stay within 100 miles.

We were on a road trip and fancied a couple of days by the beach. We like to park the car and then walk everywhere so we wanted a hotel on the beach but walking distance to restaurants etc. This place was ideal. There’s plenty of parking on site (and under cover). Check in was good and staff were friendly. We had a high floor room with balcony overlooking the beach. It was a generous size with great shower , large bed and a good size balcony. The hotel wasn’t too busy during our visit but we did use the pool - which was perfect. It’s right next to the beach but has a bar, food & drink service and a good soundtrack. (There’s also direct beach access and it’s a short walk to the pier). Location-wise, you can walk to the bars and restaurants or in season there’s a tourist bus too. We’ve deducted a point just because our room wasn’t serviced one day (they came early and when we asked them to return later - they didn’t). Apart from that, we had a great stay. Incidentally, the non- beach view was good too if you’re not bothered about sea and sand. Nice place - just wish the Blue Angels had been flying past !

We were there for Arts Festival which was excellent! Hotel is a bit odd as no public are allowed only residents due to Covid! November 2022?!!!!!!! Bar is a lobby hotel bar, nothing amazing. Tiki Bar, again nothing amazing. Steered away from restaurant, everything served on paper plates due to Covid! Room was old but satisfactory, bathroom out dated, a fair amount of mold. Missed towels, coffee etc two days out of four. Chilly Frontdesk! Pool was nice. Rooftop bar would be amazing! Blue Angels flew by which was terrific!

We came here to get away for a week and we were able to fully relax and enjoy all the resort had to offer. The staff and Frank and Lola’s were so friendly and nice . They went out of their way to make it and enjoyable experience. Our room had a great view of the gulf and was clean and comfortable. We will definitely be back.

Pensacola Beach is always beautiful, but be careful if you stay at Margaritaville Hotel. Gulf side rooms are ok, but if you book bayside, DO NOT let them put you in room 217. You’ll have a view of the roof over the portico downstairs with cigarette butts and plastic cups rolling around everywhere on the roof. You will not wake up in the morning and stand on the balcony with your coffee enjoying the view! We are not difficult to please but had to complain on this one because it was sooo bad! When we asked to be moved to another room, the response at the desk was “all hotels have bad rooms.” There was no attempt to help us out at all, and not even an apology. Because we are locals, we like to support our local hotels and restaurants during the off-season, but i doubt we will come back here. I would also advise tourists to beware of rooms 217 and 215! You will not be pleased considering the exorbitant price you will pay. Stay somewhere else!

We stayed here in 2016 shorty after they opened and came back this year Oct 2022. Let’s start off with check in. At first it was easy enough however when we got to our room the room was already occupied so we had to go back to the front desk. They said they just gave us the wrong room but did not do anything else other than say sorry about that. We got our correct room and upon first inspection this is what I noticed. The chair in the room had a stain on it, the bathroom shower floor was dirty. And I don’t mean stained dirty I mean it looks like it wasn’t cleaned. Don’t get me wrong the room is nice but for the amount you are paying for the room I would expect a bit more attention to detail. Something else I will note is that half the outlets did not work. Also there are very few outlets and tho there are outlets on the lamps themselves the plugs do not fit into them at all. We had to rotate who charged their electronics. Room cleaning, if you want your bed made or your sheets changed make sure you have ZERO personal items on the bed or they will not touch the beds. Make sure you are not in your room or near your room when they are on your hall. If they see you walk in your room but not see you come out (even if you do come out) they will skip your room. Also, they do not replenish the shampoo and things like that unless you ask. Cleaning services are every other day so if you need anything between then you will also have to ask. On that note. We stayed for 7 nights. They cleaned our room on the second full day and didn’t clean again until our last day even though I asked on our 3rd day to have cleaning services everyday because we had kids with us. I believe the only reason our room was serviced this day is because we had a stopped up toilet and I had to call down for service on the stopped up toilet. The reason I believe this is because they did a full clean. The floors and everything. Prior to this I had to ask for more toilet paper twice and more towels a few times. We had to take our room trash down to the parking garage trash cans because of the lack of cleaning staff coming to our room to do refresh. We even made it a point to stay off our floor when the cleaning people were on our floor expecting to come back to at least replenished amenities like towels and toilet paper. Because we had to keep asking for towels and no one ever came to replace soiled towels we had an abundance of soiled towels under our bathroom counter. I just expect more attention to details than we received and it was October so not a very busy time. In fact almost the entire week was low key. Our last day there was a BMW convention in the hotel so it was slightly more busy but still pretty calm and chill. One last negative note. The phone only worked part of the time. I had to mess with the receiver several times to get it to work. I also want to note even though service was bad, the staff was very polite and the convenience from Beach to pool was nice. Also, towels are provided at the pool and can be taken to the beach so if you don’t want to pack your own towels for the pool and beach you do not have to. There is a convenience of charging to your room or paying right then and there when ordering food or drinks. You can also rent chairs and an umbrella and have it charged to the room. There is a parking garage and lot for parking and you can access the beach easily from the lobby, both parking garage floors and from the pool. Also a nice little hidden gem. There are hammocks out in front of Land Shark right next door that can be accessed even when Land Shark is closed.

We have stayed at this hotel on 3 other occasions and were a little trepidatious about this stay due to the recent negative reviews. I am so glad that we didn’t cancel. Yes, the hotel has suffered some economic setbacks due to closure during the pandemic. However, the hotel continues to be clean, has a great vibe, and is beautifully located on a stunning private beach. The pool is gorgeous. Yes, there is a 18% service upcharge on food but shouldn’t people be tipping that at a minimum anyway? The food is slightly pricey but it’s similar to the pricing in other nearby restaurants. We do miss the former full menu and restaurant experience of Frank & Lola’s and hope that it makes a comeback. While the food offerings are limited, everything was very good and the drinks were chefs kiss. The room was clean and housekeeping kept us supplied on the days when there was no room service or we didn’t want room service. Overall, this was a lovely and relaxing stay. People who wrote the negative reviews need to chill.

Booking: I booked online the NIGHT BEFORE WE LEFT. Florida was going to be hit by a hurricane but we weren't sure where. We took a chance and decided Pensacola was on the outskirt of the hurricane either way. I booked online -- no issues and received an email with my reward perks. We chose the drink credit and retail store hat. Arrival: Margaritaville is easy to get to. There is a toll but its pay by tag. We have a peachpass so it will be billed. We did leave the island everyday to get starbucks. The bridges and road from Pensacola proper to the beach island is really scenic. You'll pass restaurants and things to do. We pulled up and got checked in quickly. You will need your car tag number when checking in. You'll get keys and wrist bands to wear at the pool. There are plenty of carts to load your stuff. My family loaded the cart and went to the room and I parked the car. There is no valet. I do think there is a bellman but we never interacted with him/her. You can text for service. Plenty of parking for fall break. Our room. Our room was fine. I'll tell you the good and bad: Bad first: Dirty shower. Some have commented on this and I agree. There were foreign hairs, shampoo/soap on the walls and some mold growing around the faucet. I did not complain to the front desk. It has to be HORRIBLE before I let someone in our room after we check in. I'm weird about this. Shower head. it was one of those adjustable ones but it would not adjust -- it just sits on the lower setting and if you raise it -- it will not tighten and eventually just slides down. Bathroom sink -- is completely ridiculous. It's VERY shallow and ours would not drain. My husband did contact someone to come fix it and they did right away. Once it started draining it was only mildly annoying. For example, every time I washed my hands they hit the bottom of the sink. it is THAT shallow. They might look cute but ugh -- they just need to be removed. Chair - stained -- I swear a simple wet one would get the stains out of the furniture Need another brighter lamp. Our room felt dark. First 2 nights - weed smoke was BAD in the hallway. They must have checked out because we didn't smell it our last night. I could tell the workers were trying to get rid of it because the room fragrance spray was... a lot. OK I almost didn't pack shampoo / conditioner because I love the St. Somewhere line of products from Margaritaville. This hotel DOES NOT use them. They used some other brand that I didn't even bother to remember. UGH. Good: The beds were clean and comfortable. We slept well...they are HIGH so we had to jump up to get in them. Bathroom was a good size and we had plenty of towels and toilet paper. Balcony and view were what we wanted. We sat out there many times and enjoyed it so much. (Gulf View) The room attendants were so nice. All requests were met with a smile and very glad to help out. A guest (very very tall man on his cellphone) almost mowed my daughter down and did not say excuse me or anything! Immediately after that - one of the workers was vacuuming and said excuse me to her (he wasn't in the way at all). I used that as an example of simple common courtesy manners for her. Amenities: It was so windy we did not go down to the beach to stay. The sand was BRUTAL. As a matter of fact the 2nd and 3rd day they didn't even put the chairs / umbrellas out. I do know that rentals for 2 chairs and an umbrella was $50 / day with a slight discount at 4+ days. We were going to play it by ear and I am glad we did. We did use the pool and restaurant and pool bar. The nicest thing about this for us is that we could sit by the ocean but be protected from the blowing sand AT THE POOL. It was warm - 85ish degrees but the pool was SO COLD I didn't get in it. There is a zero entry side (great for littles) and a stairs side near the bar. The bar was meh - my first drink wasn't that great. My husband liked all of his and got one every day plus some beer. The bar food was fine -- but EVERYTHING gets an 18% service charge on top of the cost and this is not the tip. Why have this? Just include the 18% in the cost of the food. It feels like such a rip off. We only ordered food one time. It was bar food -- we got 1 order of chicken fingers and fries and with all of the fees / tip it was almost $25. FOR CHICKEN FINGERS. Also one thing we like about Margaritavilles is the resort like atmosphere of music playing -- sometimes live -- and just festive DJs. No music was playing. We were so lucky to have home grown music with a beats pill competing with honky tonk country on a JBL. ANNOYING. Other things to note: There are some cute porch chairs outside that overlook to the ocean. Bike rental across the street. Plenty of restaurants close by (Shaggys was our favorite). Landshark was CLOSED except Friday - Sunday so we didn't get to go there. The pier is walking distance. The elevators were all working and in good order. There is free coffee service at a specific hour -- we did not use it. There are also Kureg machines in the room (we did not use it). Would I stay here again? Possibly but not for more than 2 nights. How the hotel can improve: 1. Bleach the shower. Fix the wands and rinse down the shower walls. 2. Add another lamp to the room. 3. Since there are "fake hardwoods". Provide washable rugs for bedside. 4. Replace the sinks in the bathroom. 5. Use the St. Somewhere products 6. Play music at the pool !!! 7. Remove the service charge and just charge more for whatever it is.
