I stayed here with a friend the night before getting the helicopter to Lundy Island from Hartland Point so this B&B was ideally placed. It was the bank holiday just after Christmas, and we arrived late after a long drive down from London, and we arrived to find that Merlyn had forgotten we had booked and was in the middle... More

This review is based on our experience when the owners were away and someone else was covering. It was also the most expensive B and B that we stayed in during our coastal walk (£100). It started off badly when we had to go and buy our own milk from a local store for coffee / tea and breakfast. No... More

Stayed in twin room. Not en suite but that was fine. Only down side was that there was no TV in the room. Merlyn was great as was breakfast. She very kindly picked me up from the car park at Hartland Quay and brought me back to the village to catch the bus to Morwenstow then next day Clovelly so... More

This was my first experience of a real English "B&B" and it was definitely all that I was expecting, and more from the cat sleeping in front of the AGA to the 4-poster bed. Merlyn serves a great breakfast whether a fully cooked carbo-load for walkers or a lighter version for the health conscious. Great location for visiting the walking... More

Both Hartland Town and this B&B are rather special places. The B&B is one of the more unusual I've stayed at, though I really liked it. It's an artist's cottage with lots of art on the walls and buddha statues - quirky and beautiful, but relaxing too. Merlyn, who runs it, is a very laid back, friendly person who made... More

A great location in the middle of the village next to the best pub for miles around. Delightful, comfortable bedroom. The property is beautiful and characterful and walkers are made welcome. Having an early breakfast was very helpful.

The room with the double bed is very pretty although a bit small, the bed is excellent. Very quiet. Nice, private, relaxed atmosphere. Inspiring artwork all over the house. Dogfriendly, even though there is a cat in the house. Merlyn is a wonderful host, and very relaxed and trusting.

Our night at 2 Harton Manor was the highlight of our week's walking holiday. From the moment we entered Merlyn's large, bright flagstoned kitchen, and sat down to a welcome cup of tea with the host, we immediately felt at home. Merlyn's stunning artwork decorates every wall of the large, interesting house, and the rooms were bright, clean and comfortable.... More

Visited Hartland to continue with our SW coast path walking. Two Harton Manor is a gorgeous, roomy cottage with a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. We had a lovely room with ensuite bathroom (with an actual bath for a change - heaven after a hard days' walking!). After a wonderful night's sleep we were treated to an unfussy, beautifully-cooked breakfast eaten... More

We stayed for one night in the double room. Let's start with the practical side, parking is easy and a pub with fab food and real ale is extremely close. Merlyn was a lovely lady who warmly welcomed us and our 2 dogs ( really dog friendly not just saying so!), the pub is also dog friendly for food. Merlyn... More
