The starters were fine as was the service. I had the fish and chips for main ,the batter on the fish almost filled the plate, and was a little burnt. My wife had the linguini ,all pasta little all else. The drinks were fairly priced and as our group were the only group sitting is this area of the pub... More

I recently stayed at this B&B and was disappointed. The sheets were not cotton but a man made fabric which had bobbled with use - it felt like sleeping on rice; the bathroom shaver light was broken so I had difficulty seeing to do make-up; the view from the window was just a rooftop; the ventilator from the kitchen was... I booked this B&B via a hotel site as it stated it was in Bideford, it is actually 15miles away from Bideford towards Bude! We needed to stay in Bideford as our vehicle needed to go in for urgent work early the next morning. After we had booked and paid we put the postcode into our sat nav and discovered... More

Just arrived back from the Anchor Inn Hartland, my self and my partner had a fantastic time. Alison the hostess with the mostess, did a brilliant job making us feel welcome, nothing was too much trouble for her, or the staff. the village itself is peaceful and the locals were very pleasent too. Stayed here for one night whilst touring west country. Lovely old Inn with dining attached. Clean, comfortable bed and separate ensuite with toiletries. Friendly staff and great food - homemade Steak & Stilton pie decicious followed by Sticky Toffee Pudding with clotted cream! Full English breakfast included in price of £65 per night.

Popped here for an evening meal, chose the burgers, fantastic tasty steak burgers, huge and very filling. Good friendly conversation with the owners son who was looking after the place whilst they were away. A very good chef too! Would eat there again.

Really hospitable couple. Room was clean. Bit small but had everything we needed. Bar was by far the busiest in the village.. Very friendly locals leading to a relaxed atmosphere all round. Inn was easy to find and has off street parking. I wouldn't claim it is perfect, but for the price you pay, and the proximity to some outstanding... More
