Zion Ponderosa Ranch is a must visit for everyone. They have spectacular views from lodging. All the activities they offer are worth it. The guides and front desk staff are very friendly and helpful. We stayed in the cabin suites and it was very clean spacious for the 2 of us. The grounds are clean and awesome to wander around! Worth a few nights stay. The pictures I added do not have filters on them.

Our room (a cabin) was nice, but given the lack of activities in the off season, overpriced. Wifi was very weak. The restaurant is mediocre but friendly and convenient. The hostess was often away from the host stand doing other things.

Check in was slow, the person working the desk was on break, out smoking and getting lunch. Strange for a place supposedly active and outdoorsy to have a smoker be the first staff we encounter. Before arrival I tried ending, calling, and using the chat feature on the website and was unable to reach anyone regardless of time of day, and got no response to my email.

The activities advertised on the website were misleading. I believe the website even boasted that winter is a great time to visit, but in reality the majority of activities were totally closed for the winter, even though the website showed availability. We booked a hike which was canceled, but no one told us that, so we showed up ready to go and then finally someone told us it had been canceled. I even inquired about it at check in (same day) and the person checking us in didn't know it had been canceled. Overall very poor communication.

The property is beautiful, on top of the mountain right outside the park entrance. Note that it costs $30 to drive through the park. The park itself is pretty awesome.

If you go in the off-season, I'd recommend choosing one of the cheaper, smaller motels near the park entrance since there was really no benefit to being on the larger property.

My entire group of friends and I really enjoyed camping for five nights at Zion Ponderosa Ranch because of the scenic camp site we had and the great facilities.

They have a very well kept up shower house. It seemed someone was always cleaning there. Beyond the showers in this building, there were very clean restrooms, a sink area at the back of the building, a faucet with local ground water, a laundry room with washers and dryers including a detergent and drier sheet dispensing machine which take quarters. If you need change for that you can get it from the check-in desk. Firewood bundles and ice are available for a reasonable price at check-in.

Because the ranch borders the east boundary of Zion Nat. Park, the location was excellent and central to visiting Zion, the north rim fo the Grand Canyon, and Bryce Canyon. The elevation is 6500 feet so the evenings are cool even though days in late September were in the upper 80's and 90's. The surrounding vegetation of the ranch and campground is Pinyon Pine and Juniper woodland.

Some of the campsites are fairly private while others are more exposed depending on the trees. They also of different sizes. Our designated site was too small for our group with two tents and the front desk was very accommodating about letting us choose another site. All things considered I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

I never post, good or not so good reviews, never. But this experience desires a first post. Zion Ponderosa Ranch is an experience that we never realized. Booked 2 nights glamping tent back in January for June dates. Called to see if they have flexibility in their 30 day cancellation policy, reservation desk basically said nothing doing, cancellation policy is 30 days...period.

These are exceptional times that demand flexibility, especially when it comes to leisure travel. Southwest Airlines allows cancellation 10 minutes prior to boarding for heavens sake. Another hotel booked for same Utah park experience had 30 day cancellation policy at time of booking but when contacted said no problem...we realize these are extraordinary times so if your plans change we will not hold to our 30 day cancellation policy.

Hoteliers during these times should be glad to have any business at all and be willing to work with customers in these difficult times. Most do, but apparently Zion Ponderosa Ranch has its own formula for success. Good luck with that. Booked alternative lodging in Zion with 24 hour cancellation. Suggest any existing customers with reservations at ZPRR just beyond their 30 day cancellation window look at doing the same or risk forfeiting 1 nights deposit.

It was a nice experience but all the items online are outdated. Everything is more expensive from what is posted online and they will not match their own online posted prices, not bundles unless you really push it, all evening activities are not what is online
or posted anywhere, staff is not real friendly or outgoing so you are pretty much on your own. Signage is very little and staff do not know what is what. For what I have paid I would expect more from the resort, but we did have a good time.

We opted to stay here for one night in the Glamping tent. The tent was fun, spacious and clean and we enjoyed the experience of sleeping in the tent and a camp fire.

The downside is the property is pretty average at best. The pool was overcrowded so we did not attempt to swim. The showers and restrooms appeared to have not been cleaned between usage so luckily we only stayed one night and didn’t use them either.

The horses were very friendly and fun to interact with. The guys tending to the animals were very kind and engaging.

The restaurant was a disaster. The lettuce in the salad was not fresh and the pizza was greasy and sloppy. The manager apologized and blamed it on the new guy making pizza. To make it up to us he brought our kids a burnt cookie with ice cream, which was a nice gesture had it been brought after they Finished their dinner and not during it.

Breakfast was included and gross. A buffet with no concerns for cleanliness. We decided to pass.

There is no WiFi unless you are in restaurant.

Lodge was nicely set up. We arrived late and were left an envelope with a confusing map to our lodge. We had read that they had free wifi and figured we could work on Friday in a nice environment. Forget it..Wifi was extremely spotty and bad.. basically non existent. No telephone service. We were extremely disappointed .
We were told there was breakfast. The breakfast line which must have been a buffet and now was served, had one or two people and a long line for a very mediocre meal...either oatmeal or some kind of egg breakfast sandwich, with watered down coffee. Don't expect social distancing. The employees wear masks ... nobody else does, and nobody maintains social distance.
We picked this resort because it seemed close to hikes and guided hikes. The shuttle is not working. The employees were not helpful in picking a hike. We finally went 40 minutes away to Zion Guru. If you have a lot of kids who like mini-golf and climbing walls this is the place for you.
Overall, we were extremely disappointed.

I wanted to love this property but it turned out to be dingy and in serious need of interior paint. I still gave it 3 stars because the bed and sheets were comfortable, and the bedroom was nice and cool. However, there were so many little things that disappointed me like, the grimy doors, the paint nicks all over the house, the knob was missing from the bedside lamp so it didn’t work. The dining furniture is in terrible shape. The property charged for ice, there was no provided coffee, there was a fire pit, but you had to purchase the wood. I’ve literally traveled the world and stayed in countless accommodation variations. Somehow I missed that this property is really not part of the “resort” other than it appears you can use the pool. I learned via a poster on the wall that it was an independently owned vacation rental, not like a resort cabin, and that like a vacation rental, I would have to clean, place towels in the bathtub and take out the trash or be fined. The king bed is upstairs and not near the bathroom. There are little reminder cards taped everywhere. How about an information/rule book? It’s literally a 45 minute drive through Zion NP to reach the hiking shuttles and the town of Springdale. I know this, because we drove it back and forth to hike, eat and get groceries. The property does have a restaurant. We ate there once. There is one nice trailhead just inside the park, very close to the resort. It was a lovely trail. The resort really needs to inspect this property before renting it out as part of its resort.

Thank you for your review. All feedback is important to us and we’re sorry to hear you had such a disappointing experience. As you can hopefully see from our other reviews, your situation is an exception and far from our usual high standards and company’s values. We apologize for the state that the home was in and will let our maintenance/housekeeping team know about the items you indicated. If you do not mind letting us know which home you were in, it would help tremendously.

This resort is huge and has quite a bit of options for accommodations. We stayed in the cowboy cabins, THE GOOD: the cabin itself was clean, comfortable and exactly as described. I love how quiet and peaceful it was at night. The proximity to Zion is convenient (20 min from east entrance ranger station and 40 min from Springdale). Staff was nice and the advice given was pretty spot on and allowed us to enjoy Zion. There is a pool onsite which was great after hiking in the heat all morning/afternoon. If you’re bringing kids, they will have a blast at the pool as there is a slide (both kid and adult sized). THE BAD: While there is a restaurant option onsite with a cafe kiosk which is nice to have (nearest restaurant from the resort is 30 min away). It is very over priced and underwhelming. The soup and salad buffet was equitable to nursing home food. The morning breakfast was decent, but if you’re to get out early and enjoy the park, you will miss it (as breakfast begins at 7am). If you’re looking for restaurant, thunderbird Cafe in mount Carmel (30 min away) has delicious food that’s decently priced. While the cabin has a ceiling fan, due to the heatwave, we had to request for a box fan. The cabins do not have any cross ventilation so it turned into a hot box which is why the box fan was so necessary. Initially, the front desk gave us the run around for a couple of hours until one of the staff was fortunately able to locate one. During a heatwave, every cabin without AC should come equipped with one. THE UGLY: The maintenance of the public restrooms and showers. They were pretty disgusting. It was constantly dirty and littered with toilet paper and junk. Literally saw the same toilet paper and junk on the floor for two days in a row that we informed the front desk. Trash cans overflowing for two days in a row. Showers were dirty on day 1 but I did noticed they were cleaned on the 2nd day we were there. The public bathrooms were cleaner at Zion than this resort, that’s how bad it was. We booked for 3 days but only ended up staying for 2. It’s such a cute resort and the cabin itself is lovely, we were just disappointed in the maintenance of the public restrooms/showers and very underwhelmed with the food options. It really did feel like this resort used to be a summer kids camp that was bought out and converted into a resort. So much potential but fell short.

We were staying in a gated community not even 5 mins away from here so we came to check out the pool. Make sure you pay in the main lobby, not the pool itself. It was $5.00 for the day and they said there was no weekly pass, although my brother and his wife went two days after us and they paid $10.00 and they said they could come back all week. I guess the workers make up the rules as they please. But all in all, the pool was great and a much needed break from the heat and hiking. Only downside is this is a family resort, so there were a lot of noisy kids who were splashing constantly. The worker at the pool was super friendly and seemed to really enjoy her job.
