This hotel was built around 1913 and has been restored to accommodate visitors to Voyageur National Park. It is the only lodging within the park. The only way to get to it is by boat on a $45 roundtrip shuttle for those staying overnight. The hotel is maintained to reflect the historical time period. No ensuite bathrooms. You will have... Kettle Falls Hotel has an incredible history dating back prior to the NP as a portage between Rainy Lake and Namakan Lake (still used today) to get through the falls/dam. Our trip involved a day boat trip from our cabin on Kabetagoma with two young children (6 and 2). Our children enjoyed walking to the hotel from the docks, eating... More

We traveled with about 8 to 10 other couples from Rochester. Picking up a few more along the way. One of the best road trips ever. The hotel at Kettle Falls is only accessible by boat so it's a little remote. Terrific history to the hotel. Also called the Tilt'n Hilton because of the floor at the saloon tilts about... More

We decided early in the year to get away from the cities for a long weekend over Labor Day, and chose the Kettle Falls hotel. This is about as far out as you can get and still enjoy amenities. Lovely boat ride to/from hotel. Staff were courteous, but stretched a little thin (...but we were here to relax, wasn't a... More

We have stayed in many national parks from the Everglades to Glacier Bay in Alaska and would have to rate this as the worst of the group by far. The cost was $200/night to stay in a "Villa". The Villas could be compared to duplexes and were spacious however it did have issues. The water wasn't rusty, it was just... More

This is a great reason to take the beautiful, scenic boat ride up to the dam. The property is nice and the bar food and beers were great. They had full menu but we were just stopping for a casual snack and a couple beers. The stroll from the dock up to the property was a nice safe nature walk.

Nestled in the heart of Voyageurs is this rustic property. For one star prices you can have one of 12 rooms with shared bathrooms (plenty), no appliances, yet clean and friendly. Rick, the owner, may be one of the few honest men around. Bar ($5 drinks), restaurant (not great yet not pricy), gift shop, and as I understand, great fishing.... More

Falls were interesting but not worth a long boat ride if it is out of your way. So much other beauty in Voyageurs. Stopped for a very average pub-fare type lunch. Service was very slow but I think they were overwhelmed by an unexpectedly busy day. I actually had to go hunt down a waitress to get service. We sat... More

We stopped at Kettle Falls Hotel for lunch during a 6-hour boat ride in Voyageurs Nat'l Park. This quaint hotel/restaurant/bar serves food (mostly pizza & sandwiches - pretty tasty). The bar area has a very slanted floor with a 'leveled' pool table. You can drink/eat in the screened porch if you want. The hotel is near the 'Falls dam'. Half... More

I want to preface this review by stating that we were expecting a different kind of experience. We expected a quiet, peaceful getaway. Not party central. I will add that the three of the four criteria that we use to rate all motel/hotels 1) Is the property and room clean. 2) Does the shower work well, 3) Can we get... More
