Had a great 3 nights at the skyland - driving up to the resort in thick fog was scary, but the resort was all it promised to be, the dining room is again basic but good good, the blackberry ice cream pie is wonderful! Rooms are basic, but with rustic charm, plenty of parking, your own deck for sitting out... More

Those foggy nights can be challenging on the road. But when the fog lifts, the view is spectacular! Glad you enjoyed the pie! More

Always Looks Forward To Staying At Skyland. It's So Peaceful And Quiet And The Nights Will Always Bring You Back. So Much To Do Or Just Relax And Enjoy The Beauty Of Nature. Only Minus is The Food At The Restaurant Leaves Something To Desire. The Food At Big Meadow is Better.

We have stayed at Skyland in the past and always enjoy the views and day hikes available close by. The lounge had enjoyable live music on both Friday and Saturday nights. If you are interested in first class accommodations, this isn't a good fit for you. The rooms are rustic - spend your time enjoying the views and the park.

My husband twin 9 year old sons and I stayed at Skyland Resort for 2 nights during our vacation road trip. We had a great experience as the staff was very helpful in orienting us to the resort and helping us choose hiking trails as well as giving us information on the Junior Ranger programs for our sons. Our room... More

The rooms are small but clean. There is a balcony off each room with beautiful views of the valley. The furnishings are on the rustic side and the room is paneled giving a nice feel to the atmosphere. The area includes a very nice conference center with two grand fireplaces to enjoy. We were there in March on a cold... More

Preferred rooms were clean with beautiful views of the mountains. Wifi was spotty at the lodge and unavailable at the room. Restaurant food was good but service very slow. Beautiful sunsets can be seen from the lodge.

We stayed one night, very beautiful resort. We had a premium room, #46 Bushytop. The inside was very nicely renovated. The view was ok. Because of that I think this should be a preferred room. But we did see a bear twice and two bucks right in front of our back deck. Food and service were very good in the... More

Skyland Resort has so much going for it--amazing period feel (30s to 50s) a stunning view, and rooms that make you feel like you've walked into a different era (in a good way). I've stayed here twice and the rooms are always super clean and affordable, the amenities decent (avoid the pricey restaurant for dinner which isn't so good and... More

the location is fantastic and a great jumping off point for exploring Shenandoah or Skyline Drive. We stayed here on the first night of our trio down skyline drive and blue ridge parkway. there is no wifi in the rooms and no cell service (verizon). no phones in the room either.

We have been coming to Skyland for the past 5 years. The area is beautiful and great for a number of outdoor activities. We enjoy hiking in this area. We find the resort to be comfortable and clean. This is not a five star hotel, so don't come expecting that. The restaurant food is very good, and there is a... More
