We visited in mid October to see the leaves. The park and popular trails were packed.
The location of this Lodge and Big Meadows is excellent for touring the Shenandoah National Park. The room was recently remodeled and was ok-a bit on the rustic side....More

We arrived late in the fog, and felt a bit lost. A ranger thankfully drove up to us and offered assistance, which was so nice! He drove ahead of us, so that we could follow him to the main lodge to check in, and then...More

WiFi is available in communal areas and I believe some rooms but we were unable to access during our stay. We took it as an opportunity to switch off technology for a few days which was quite refreshing.

There is Wifi in the Dining Room and Bar area and Store and Reservation Desk, some guest rooms. Wifi isn't available staying in many of the rooms, cabins, lodging at Skyland. You can get cell service in Some Locations but Not All of them. Many cabins/rooms people stay in have no internet, no tv and no cell service, no ceiling fan and no AC. Want entertainment in your room, during bad weather? Download to your device before you get to Skyland, Wifi Isn't Strong Enough to download or stream anything. Option is portable projector that can play DVDs on room wall.
