The first of the campgrounds, if approaching from the south end of shenandoah. We planned to camp at big meadows but had to settle for loft, since big meadows was full. The campgrounds are kinda uneven which really makes it difficult to find a good spot if you are a group of 4 and have to set up 2 tents,... More

Spent the weekend at Loft Mountain Campground. We didn't have a reservation so we were sure to arrive early enough for a first come, first serve, site. We arrived around 11am on Friday morning and had plenty of tent only sites and RV sites, if we wanted. We drove around a bit and decided on tent site A11. Great site!... More

We stayed at Loft Mountain campground from a Sunday night to Wednesday in late June. We loved the A2A and A2B campsites. They are near the road, close to the bathrooms yet secluded. The great thing about the bathrooms here is there are a few of them so they are not crowded and very, very clean. It's nice being close... More

Unfortunately, it was very dreary and rained a lot of the time my husband and I were there. We were able to see a couple views from the many overlooks that they have available on the Skyline Dr. We stayed at Loft Mountain Campground for just one night. Our site was A32E. For the most part we had some privacy.... More

OK, so this is going to start of sounding like a bad review. Not my intention. We are not exactly expert campers. We drove in to the park with a lot of fog and rain. Oh and it was pitch dark. We finally got to the campground and we realized that this particular campground is a little bit more off-the-grid... More

Went here for a hiking/camping trip while on vacation. The camp ground is well maintained, the bathrooms are cleaned daily, and there is access to a public shower facility but that costs 1.75 for 5 minutes. The downside is that there was a group that blasted hip-hop all night for whatever reason and no one would do anything about it.... More

Loft Mountain Campground was super! We scored a great site (I'm not giving out the number because we want it again in the future). Hung out hammocks, popped our tent up and away we went. The Appalachian Trail circles the park and we took the kiddo out on the loop. Super nice. Great views! The store is very well stocked.... More

Nice spacious, family friendly campground. We stayed in one of the outlying spaces build for a lot more campers than we had. The guys were able to throw the football with room to spare. Other campsites were smaller, but provided more privacy by surrounding trees. Bathrooms in campground were well maintained. Down the hill, the camp store was well stocked... More

Loved this park! Better for people that know more about real camping (bear safety) and backcountry hiking type stuff- not so much meant for younger kids, unless your kids can hike..no pool, lake or playground! Sites are amazing, really clean. Definitely need to come back and backcountry hike someday soon! Nice camp store, food options for hikers and campers and... More

We really enjoyed our stay and would have loved to spend more time on the trails, but with two young kids they were bored/tired of that quickly. The campground was nice and peaceful. Bathrooms were very clean. Highly recommend it, but just be aware it's not like a KOA with a bunch of rec stuff and a playground to keep... More
