Just returned from a quick visit to Lewis Mountain Cabins after staying at Skyland a few nights. We found Lewis Mountain ideal, just the right mix of comfort & nature. Great for the dog too! Staff was incredibly helpful and kind. We would have stayed longer but the weather got nasty. We'll definitely return.

We enjoy this National Park treasure that is a well-kept secret. It's not as busy as the other sites in this area and that makes it more enjoyable for us. Count us among the "regulars" now that come back annually (at least a couple visits throughout the season). The staff is super-friendly and accommodating! We got my parents and (adult)... More

We had a wonderful time at Lewis Mountain Cabins. We loved the historical significance of the cabins and the quiet, off-the-beaten-track location. We had a one bedroom duplex cabin and, unfortunately, the first night our "neighbors" arrived late and continued to have loud conversation and banging around until 12:15 AM when I had enough and thumped the bathroom wall. The... More

I had been to LMC last year and couldn't wait to come back this year. This time I brought a group of 11 people and was nervous they wouldn't like it because of its lack of amenities. I needn't have worried. They all fell in love with it. The city folk had a blast and the outdoor lovers gave it... More

The cabin was a welcome relief after sleeping outdoors the previous two nights. Comfy bed and hot shower - what more could a backpacker need?! The heating system did seem quite old though, it was either too hot or too cold. Luckily they had a spare blanket.

First visit to the park with my family. The trip and stay was pleasant and very enjoyable. Importantly relaxing. The cabins were comfortable and so was the dining experience! The premise was clean and well maintained with very friendly staff at the office, dining hall and the gift shop. My kids enjoyed the short hikes and the cleanliness of the... More

Shenandoah National Park is one of my favorite parks. Been coming here for over 20 years. We always stay at Skyland at one of their lodge style rooms but I wanted to try something different. Lewis Mountain is more secluded and much smaller. Only a few cabins with a larger camping area. They have a camp store with supplies, no... More

My sister and I traveled to Shenandoah National Park for a weekend getaway to take advantage of Skyline Drive. We chose Lewis Mountain Cabins because we wanted a rustic experience. It was so charming!! They had everything that we needed. There was a fire pit, lit picnic area and CLEAN accommodations. Randy, the manager, was awesome. So personable and helpful.... More

We stayed in the bunkhouse cabin at Lewis Mountain. It rained really hard the first two nights and really cold but the little wood stove kept the cabin nice and warm. Make sure to purchase the Duraflame logs for the stove since they burn a lot longer. The cabin is really small but nice and cozy for a small group... More

Just spent 3 days at Lewis Mt Cabins, with a friend and our dogs. We enjoyed every minute. The cabin was clean and warm. The staff were friendly and helpful. We cooked using the fire pit and our camp stove, and hiked every day on a different trail. We wandered through Big Meadow on the deer tracks, and had a... More
