The cabin was adorable and clean, with a grill/fire pit right outside. Everything was in great condition. Also there was a nice sheltered picnic table. Was close to the Appalachian Trail and Skyline Drive.

fantastic setting - very quiet and lush forest. excellent staff - check-in and -out was easy. rooms were very clean and rustic, yet comfortable. the other campers seemed all like-minded: respectful, quiet, and there to enjoy the beauty of the woods. highly recommended for anyone wanting a rustic setting in a lush forest.

Traveled to many locations both in and out of the park-very comfortable bed-it is a cabin bathroom is small NO TV which is great--saw many deer and several bears-enjoyed walking in Big Meadows at dusk

The cabin was anything but luxurious. We had a 2 bedroom with bathroom between the rooms. The first night we had a little mouse visit us about 2 am. Took a while to get him out. We reported this the next morning and the problem was taken care of, no further visits. So that says something about the cabin(s). They... More

The only issue was with the reservation. When you call the 800 number to reserve, it would be wise of you to ensure that they make it for the correct days. We were scheduled for the following day instead of the days we requested which would have really thrown a wrench in our plans had Randy Fields at the check... More

The mice will find it. This says something about the rustic nature of the cabins. Stay elsewhere if you expect perfection. Great beds & shower is what makes this place a 5 -- especially if it rains. Expensive but perfect for hikers. Inside doors may not stay closed, floors may creak, no wi-fi... But that SHOULD be why you stay... More

Loved staying in the cabins. The man at the store, I think is name is Randy, was fantastic. He opened the store before and after stated hours if you needed something. He had lots of tips, also. It is very quiet. You are not on top of people like you are in the lodges. Deer wander thru the grounds. No... More

The rooms had hot water and clean sheets. If you are hiking the AT, this is a great place to get cleaner, sleep in a real bed, and have a real meal. Of the three available inn-to-inn stretches on the trail, this stretch is known as the best for those wanting to get a taste of the trail. The cabins... More

These circa 1937 cabins are a great place to overnight along the Skyline Drive. While primitive, the beds and heating were very comfortable. Great for hikers or those that just want to experience a retro visit to the Shenandoah National Park.

Don't let the rough exterior fool you, these cabins are very well kept on the inside, though as you may anticipate, it is a cabin in the woods. So, no wifi, not cell coverage, and you will find and experience a whole range of bug and critter interactions. If you want a cabin in the woods with a bed, a... More
