The wife and I are tent campers. This is a great campground for tent camping. If you know when you're going to visit, plan ahead and make reservations. There is a very nice tents-only section. Abundant wildlife roams the park and the campgrounds (along with the Park) are dog friendly. Bear Prevention camping required. Bear boxes provided in spots without...

Nice spacious camp sites. Everyone was quiet by 10. Wish they had quiet time till 7 am the next morning instead of 6. But neighbors were nice. Don't like sharing public bathroom but you're camping so what's to do. Need more stalls in bathrooms. Stars at night beautiful. First camping experience. Would definitely go again. Overall great experience.

This was our first visit to Big Meadows Campground. We have many friends who have camped here for years and love it. We can't believe we waited this long to try it out! Even though the campground was full we felt we had a lot of privacy in our spot. Guests were quiet and respectful. The facilities were clean and...

We've taking the family for several years now, some of the reasons why Big Meadows campground is our base-camp for our week in the park: 1. Location in the park: Located at MilePost 51, Big Meadows is located exactly half-way through the park making it a perfect place to set off either North or South though the park in search...

Great campground for families. Love the fact that there were so many planned activities by the park rangers that were free. So much to do at & near Big Meadows! We were treated with sightings of 4 black bears & many deer! Be sure to follow rules & policies regarding the bears. You have Big Meadow Lodge with a restaurant...

My older son and I stayed here for two nights ($20/night). While it was full, it did not seem crowded. The sites are clean and people are friendly. There is plenty to do in and around the site. The Big Meadows lodge is a short walk and sports a restaurant, pub with entertainment, a gift shop, and a short hike...

Don't let this crowded campground fool you. The culture here is calm, quiet and friendly. Firewood is readily available from the check in area and the big meadows lodge. Restrooms were clean and well kept. The showers are in a separate building, and were adequate for camping. Big meadows is in a nice, central location in this big park. The...

Camping at Big Meadows Campground is pretty much like any other National Park. But the staff, in our experience, has been better than most. When we arrived, we told the Ranger, Bryan, we were trail runners and he spent about 20 minutes describing the different trails and difficulties of each. If you're a trail runner, definitely check out Big Meadows.

We have been coming to Big Meadows since I was a kid, and now I bring my kids. We really enjoy the walk up tent sites, pretty secluded and when friends get adjacent sites, the kids have ample room to run around and still be in sight and away from the roads. The AT runs behind the back row of...

We went tent camping with two other families and had a great time! There were 5 adults and 5 kids ages 9-2. The staff was super friendly, and the kids loved the junior ranger program at the visitor center where they did different activities and earned a ranger pin. We saw a lot of wildlife including baby black bears on...
