We stayed at Sunset Campground for 3 nights in mid August of 2018. Certain sites have amazing views of the valley and sunset. Those are booked early on, but keep in mind at sunset time, the people from other sites will trek through those prime sites to get a view of the sunset.

We stayed here over the weekend of 08/11/2018. There was still some haze/smoke left from the fire close to Yosemite, but we made it work. We stayed in a campsite in Lodgepole back in May 2018, but we felt like this campsite was better in quite a few ways. We actually lucked out

We tent camped at three places on our trip and this was the worst. Picnic tables and bear boxes are great. High quality. Campsites are very close together and ours was sloped. Ours needed to be leveled. The nearest showers were a 45 minute drive away, which was very

There are always a multitude of hiking options at a park like this, but I found Big Stump Basin just down the road from this campground to be particularly beautiful. The park's nps.gov website can give you detailed info on hiking as well as a rich resource on how to enhance your trip.

I have read that firewood is available at the General Store at Grant Grove Village which is close to the campground. We are camping there starting tomorrow night, so will post answer soon.

"112 had nice views, 110 was a steep drop to the tent sites, 114 was nice; all close to water and bathrooms"
"Reserve very early to take advantage of the beautiful autumn weather."
"If you have a big rig, stick to the first few sites in the campground...everything else is way too tight."
