We spent 3 nights here and really enjoyed ourselves. Burr and Suzanne are great hosts, the food was delicious, and the setting is awesome. You really get away from it all. It seems to attract like-minded people who are fun to hang out with. Be prepared to do some "hiking" around the camp itself - our cabin was quite a... More

We stayed at SHSC for three nights. This is a hike in camp so be prepared to hike in with what you'll need for the length of your stay. You should also be prepared for the altitude. We were not totally acclimated to the elevation so it made the hike in a bit difficult. The first part of the hike... More

This is a private camp at incredible altitude in the middle of a massive National Park. That location is the main reason this place is so unique (and expensive). This is not The Ritz Carlton; This is not a luxury suite on a cruise; there are many other things that are of the same price range that are nothing like... More

Great hiking, accommodations, and food. Beautiful sunsets! Wonderful place to meet adventurous people who love the outdoors. Wine list is almost all French wines. Need to upgrade wine list to California wines. French wines can be good, but most of us wine drinkers on the west coast know nothing about them, and they do not fit our tastes. Go local,... More

The Camp offers either a 1-mile hike in, or a 12-mile route. It's perched at about 8,300 feet in elevation and looks out at some phenomenal peaks. Tent cabins offer a level of comfort and convenience seldom found in the wilderness, and meals, provided in the lovely main building, are exquisite and served with sophistication and style. Showers are available... More

This is truly a unique back country experience. All of these positive reviews do justice to the place. I would simply add that the food is beyond ones expectations. Note that this is a hiking destination. If you want to fish, this ain't the place, thanks to the location and the drought. But go. Enjoy the hospitality of Burr and... More

My husband and I backpack so our point of view may not be like others who don't ever really rough it. Compared to backpacking, well, you can't compare them! This place is the best place to "camp". You get away from it all, but still have luxuries of a hotel. But if this is your first visit to the Sequoias... More

I just completed a 3-night stay, and the experience was fabulous. Rather than repeat the other reviews, I will add my thoughts. The chef Brett and his wait staff prepare a first-class, 5-course dinner each night, with appetizer, soup, salad, entre and dessert. During my stay the meals were built around Alaskan halibut, filet mignon, and salmon. There is a... More

We had a great two days at this camp. The owners, Burr and Suzanne were friendly and welcoming and the other guests were great company. The food is amazing and the beds comfortable. I would say that you have to be able to walk up quite a steep hill to get to the tents but I did see one lower... More
