I made a mistake with the reservation but the manager, Bart, could not have been more helpful and professional in making alternative arrangements for us during a very busy time for the lodge. The lodge is not a 'five star' hotel and the eating options are limited, but its location within the National Park is the attraction.

The John Muir Lodge is exactly what we expected. A decent but basic place to stay in a great location. We were on the first floor and really didn't have issues with noise. The staff was helpful and nice. Ate at the food court a few times as it was really the only option around, but the food was good... More

Within the National Park, which is stunning, lodging is scarce. We stayed in Aug for 2 nights. You can drive an hour easily without traffic between the hub or village locations where there are lodging villages. John Muir Lodge was in Grant Grove Village. The Lodge served a nice continental breakfast with great fruit. The room had a TV and... More

Cozy lodge in National Park. Take out food only available while restaurant is being remodelled. Good location for park exploration. Be aware that travel in parks take longer than expected due to narrow winding roads.. But, what a beautiful view. Dress warm, gift shop nearby sells jackets & sweatshirts for reasonable cost.

There are very few places to stay in Kings Canyon and without a doubt the location is beautiful. The lodge itself is a dump. It is dirty and noisy. Don't think you will get much sleep here. The rooms are not cleaned properly. I moved a bedside table to plug in my laptop charger and found food crumbs and a... More

Hello and sincerest apologies the cleanliness of the room was sub par. If such an instance occurs we would be more than happy to either move you, or clean your room immediately if notified. We apologize for that. Although not standard practice to change bed spreads with every guest, we also do not want to miss a stained one, in... More

There are not a lot of choices in Sequoia and Kings Canyon as far as lodging. We checked into this lodge knowing it was rated pretty mediocre and with reason. The room was okay, could have been cleaner but not horrible. Walls are thin and I recommend a white noise machine to drown out your neighbors or you will not... More

Hi and thank you for the feedback. Yes, the new restaurant is under construction and due to the seasons and mountain weather the construction had to begin in the summer in a race to beat first snowfall. We do apologize for any inconvenience, and the brand new facility from the ground up should be very, very nice. It's due to... More

Sequoia National Park offers a unique environment which everyone must experience at least once in their life. The setting of this lodge is in the midst of beautiful woods. The lodge exterior fits in perfectly into the surrounding environment. The wood fire burning in the lobby gives the reception area a very homey, warm feel. The check in process was... More

This lodge is beautiful and relaxing. This is a great place if you don't want to camp. Just make sure you get a upstairs room being that you can hear everything above you in the downstairs rooms. We would definitely stay here again.

Very cute and nice hotel for a family weekend getaway in the park. It was a great alternative to camping. The beds were meh at best, but everything else was great. Service was very good! The food truck closed rather early, but the food (when we got there on time) was excellent.

Rooms are comfortable but not fancy. The restaurant is being rebuilt so they are relying on a food truck - but the selection is decent and the food pretty good. Location is attractive. Overall, staff was very friendly and helpful. The morning continental breakfast was included in our room price (that's an option) and was substantial.
