Had a 14 yr old nephew visiting from Japan. He was a city boy with little outdoors experience. Thought taking him camping would be a great experience. Wife is also a city girl and dislikes camping while camping. Lodgepole was perfect. They have hot shower facilities, clean toilets, and even a supermarket open till 8pm. Camping spots are close to... Good campground facilities, close to nature with bears around the corner. General store very good with different food options and a ranger station with movie theater. Convenently located wrt Giant Forest, Moro Rock and Crescent Meadows.

Pros: Near General Sherman tree and accompanying Sequoia grove. On the Marble Fork of the Kawheah River, which is beautiful with granite rocks, pools, etc. Some campsites are near the river with very easy access. Pets allowed. Facilities clean (Toilets and sinks only). Abundant wildlife - We saw 4 deer, chipmunks, squirrels, plenty of trout in the creek, and many... More

I have been to general stores in Death Valley and Grand Canyon and the food and supplies were so very expensive. The Lodgepole Campground General Store gathers just as much of a captive audience, yet they charge very fair prices. Ice is under $3.00 a bag, firewood is 9.00 for a decent size box. The beer selection was amazing, full... More

This was by far the most memorablecamping trip .The site where we were was just perfect for our kids that are ages six and eight years old .being in front of a creek where you can watch them play while you're preparing for dinner or lunch or breakfast was just amazing. We saw bears on a hiking trip ,just safe... More

We visited over a long weekend and we loved this campground. Although we didnt actually camp at Lodgepole, we have already decided that next time we camp at Sequioa we will be staying there. There's a river that runs through that campground and also a trail to hike to the falls. This campground also has showers and a store which... More

Second year in a row coming back to Lodgepole and Sequoia National Park. We prefer to stay next to the river and reserved our site #97 about six months in advanced. All campsites have a picnic table, fire pit and an marked area to set up a tent if you are staying in one of those. At Lodgepole you have... More

My husband and I camped at Lodgepole for 5 nights and enjoyed it very much. We had no reservation, so we were very happy to find a spot. We had #100 next to a stream and fairly private and close to the nice clean bathrooms. Walking distance to bus shuttle and visitor center, convenience store, restaurant, showers and laundromat

This was a great campground. Very spacious and rustic. We stayed for 2 nights in a small 5th wheel. The shuttle bus stop was at the very end of the campground where we could get on the bus and tour the park. This is a great feature of the National Parks and cuts down on traffic. The bus drivers are... More

We stayed one night at Potwisha then moved here. Loved this campground. Waterfall by sites 120-130 should be an attraction in itself, rather than a hidden gem. Sites are well placed, even though not as far spaced as some other campgrounds. Privacy wasn't an issue for us. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.
