Deze campground ligt midden in het Olympic National Rain Forrest. Je kampeert dus echt in de natuur. Jammer dat de visitor center gesloten was. Er zijn wat wandelingen in de buurt te doen. Verder is het vooral genoeten van het rain forrest.

We accidentally ended up at this campsite when Siri lead us astray! It turned out to be a beautiful setting in the middle of the Hoh Rainforest. The campsite itself was not crowded, private and peaceful. We spent a very restful night there and the next day did a short walk through the spruce and hemlock trees.

For us were not really hard to hike this trail to get to Hoh river camp. In the morning we found out fresh brear poop close to the campground on the trail. It is really good to have food in the bear canister as we did. Any of that bears did not wake us up during the night. Just poop around :D

We just spent 3 days in the Hoh Campground. I’ve camped everywhere and there’s nothing like this magical fairyland anywhere else; no words do it justice. Trail after trail of dense, towering (200 ft.+) spruce & pine trees, covered with neon green moss literally dripping from the branches, with dense verdant ferns carpeting the ground at your feet. Walk a little bit away from the campground (every site in loops B & C are near-ideal) and the Visitor’s Center to spots in the woods where the crowds thin out, and the silence is truly mystical. You feel like the old growth trees, both the living ones and the fallen logs each stretching for two to three football fields length, are talking to you. As I meditated in a circle of trees deep in the forest, a young elk jumped out from behind a distant tree, galloped around me in a full-circle, then darted off into the wilderness. What an omen to get back here, and believe me, we will return, over & over!

Our family made the trip to the Hoh Rainforest on Memorial Day weekend. We left Thursday and secured an amazing campsite in loop C (#65) right by the river. Loop C is more private and filled with tall, beautiful, moss covered trees. Very quiet and decent bathroom with toilets - no showers. Walking distance to the Hoh Visitors Center and three amazing hikes.
