I was expecting rustic cabins without many amenities inside a national park, but I was pleasantly surprised by Maswik Lodge. It is motel style with the rooms spread across several two story buildings centered around the lobby/dining/gift shop complex. The rooms are not at all modern (haven't seen a CRT or "tube" TV in a while!) but they are extremely... More

The best part about staying here is without a doubt the close proximity to the Grand Canyon! But, you should know that the hotel rooms are nothing to write home about. They are very basic and were a bit smelly when we went. There were two beds in our room, which barely fit our family of five, but we didn't... More

*If visiting in the summer: The room was unbearably hot!!! No air conditioning. We had trouble sleeping, let alone even sitting. Our room had 2 fans going, but it wasn't enough, even late at night with the windows open. Despite what they say, the rooms hold the heat from the daytime and don't cool easily. (A very small number of... More

We had a great nights sleep here. The accommodation has easy access to the bus and to the hike down the Canyon. The facilities all worked and you can park close to your unit. We only had a day here so it was pretty busy a second day would have given us a bit more time to look at everything.... More

As many have said, the sunrises and sunsets at the Grand Canyon is something you must experience, not just hear about from someone else. And there is a value to staying inside the park to be so close to it all, and to be able to step out on the trails to enjoy this incredible wonder. But expectations were a... More

If you want to stay at a lodge in Grand Canyon National Park, 5 months in advance is too late to start making reservations, as it turns out. We were fortunate to find ONE room available in the entire park during our planned week in the area, and it was in the Creek Rose cabin at Maswik Lodge. Knowing it... More

Maswik lodge is a little tired and rundown - however that's not why you stay here. You stay here so you can wake up in the morning at 5am and see the sunrise over one of the wonders of the world. This is truly a magical experience and something you can on,y appreciate when you see it. Wow!

Hotel was very basic A bit like a scout camp. Having said that the Grand Canyon was well worth the trip. The hotel did the job though. Rooms were good but no aircon in the "South" rooms. Having said all of that, the Canyon is definitely the star of the show and I would stay there again.

The surrounding views are great. The rooms at this lodge need updating as most of the electrical outlets did not work, really low lighting and the beds were uncomfortable. Plenty of elk walking around.

Guys (more than one!) at reception did not know where our room was and the reception was packed. But room was nice (a bit dark) and spacious. We got wet several times between room and reception and at reception there is barely any parking.
