We arrived at night so we were kind of blown away in the morning when we realized how we truly were RIGHT on the rim! It was very cool and we took photos of our family at the edge of the rim from inside our room. The room was tight but more cozy than uncomfortable. There was a fridge, small... More

View is beautiful and hotel is good. The breakfast and the dinner at the hotel are also a very good experience. Service is perfect. Expensive but a very good quality/price. Having a room with a view on the Grand Canyon is wonderful. We recommend this hotel and especially the restaurant (located in El Tovar hotel next to the Kachina Lodge,... More

No doubt about it - the location cannot be beaten. The rooms, however, could use some serious updating. They are dark and very worn out, with old furnishings. Linens are old and stained. Rooms are very quiet (we were on the bottom level). Very short walk to Bright Angel trail on the South Rim. We did get a room with... More

Chose the Kachina as it is right on the edge of the canyon - some lodges are further back. You check in at El Tovar hotel and this is where you can eat too. A two minute walk away. The Kachina lodge itself has a lift or stairs . Rooms are spacious and contain a fridge . Toiletries and free... More

We had a great view! It's worth the extra money so go for a room with a view. Rooms were sooo quiet! We have been traveling for weeks so we appreciate a great quiet room. Nicely updated and a great size room. Nice outside area to sit when not in room.

The Lodge itself is nothing to write home about, a typical, old national parks lodge, but the location on the rim yields an Excellent Experience! It's hard to get a parking spot anywhere in that area, but after having dinner at the El Tovar on the first night, we snagged a spot right in front. We had a room on... More

Great location in terms of access to the dining at El Tovar and attractions. The room was updated, clean and the air conditioning worked very well. We were pleasantly surprise by the quality of both the linens and bathroom! I highly recommend that you ask for a lower floor as there is absolutely no street noise and you will be... More

We arrived at the Grand Canyon, just before dark. I was impressed by how easy it was to get checked in and to our room. We were able to pull up to El Tovar and leave the car in the driveway while we checked in. The family ran up to view the canyon while I checked in, and 10 minutes... More

The lodge has a good location. That's the main point. Rooms are decent. It had equipment to prepare tea or coffee. We had ground floor room, which meant that there was just a partial view to Grand Canyon from the room window. It was very nice place anyway.

We booked a partial rim view room a year before our trip. I read all the reviews and did a lot of research, so I was not entering this blindly. I knew we were not at the Ritz and I knew the room did not have 'air conditioning' and I knew that parking was a problem. I figured it was... More
