We enjoyed our stay at the Kachina Lodge. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The location can't be beat. The room was clean and in good working order. We appreciated the refrigerator and the Keurig coffee machine in the room. We only had to travel 60 seconds to see sun rise and sun set over the breathtaking Grand Canyon.

Our family visited the Grand Canyon in the summer of 2015 (finally getting around to our reviews). I made our reservation about 10 months ahead of our visit and literally booked the last available room within the Grand Canyon park limits. I would chose this location again (just to stay at the Grand Canyon), but only as a last resort... More

We (2 adults and 2 teens) decided to go to the Grand Canyon about 2 months before booking the room, I started out with a reservation at a non rim hotel (Yavapai) and kept checking the web site - was able to work up to Bright Angel and then Kachina. We chose Kachina because of the air conditioning (going in... More

-Great location on rim -Rooms are tired, old and musty - in desperate need of renovation -Towels just don't smell clean, carpets old, bathrooms tight and ancient -Enter with low or no expectations other than being right on the rim -There is only 1 good restaurant in this complex, at the El Tovar - Book there instead!

It is very difficult to acquire accommodations inside the park, let alone right on the rim. So we were thrilled that our tour included this accommodation for the one night we were there. You cannot beat the location, but the accommodation itself is marginal. Picture a dorm or a very frugal motel room. That being said, it was all about... More

We arrived at night so we were kind of blown away in the morning when we realized how we truly were RIGHT on the rim! It was very cool and we took photos of our family at the edge of the rim from inside our room. The room was tight but more cozy than uncomfortable. There was a fridge, small... More

View is beautiful and hotel is good. The breakfast and the dinner at the hotel are also a very good experience. Service is perfect. Expensive but a very good quality/price. Having a room with a view on the Grand Canyon is wonderful. We recommend this hotel and especially the restaurant (located in El Tovar hotel next to the Kachina Lodge,... More

No doubt about it - the location cannot be beaten. The rooms, however, could use some serious updating. They are dark and very worn out, with old furnishings. Linens are old and stained. Rooms are very quiet (we were on the bottom level). Very short walk to Bright Angel trail on the South Rim. We did get a room with... More

Chose the Kachina as it is right on the edge of the canyon - some lodges are further back. You check in at El Tovar hotel and this is where you can eat too. A two minute walk away. The Kachina lodge itself has a lift or stairs . Rooms are spacious and contain a fridge . Toiletries and free... More

We had a great view! It's worth the extra money so go for a room with a view. Rooms were sooo quiet! We have been traveling for weeks so we appreciate a great quiet room. Nicely updated and a great size room. Nice outside area to sit when not in room.
