What an excellent location and wonderful staff. Yes, the furniture is ancient but the bed was comfortable and the room and bathroom were relatively clean for as old as the furnishings were. We dined for dinner at El Tovar, which was excellent and top notch and the Bright Angel

Perfectly satisfactory place to stay. Has some age, but is very clean and blends with the rustic Grand Canyon feel. Not a glossy Hampton but that would seem out of place twenty yards from the rim of the Canyon! Cannot be anymore convenient to the rim for sunrises and sunsets.

Room was clean and the location was excellent. It was right next to the canyon and very walk able to eat, shop & hike. Loved staying in the village & when I come back I would definitely stay in the village again. Bright Angel Trail is within walking distance as our other

We booked a room on the canyon side since we thought the kids would really have their minds blown to be able to see the Grand Canyon right out their window. It was a pretty nice view and considering it was pretty cold outside, it was nice to be able to look out on the Canyon

Let’s start with the positives. The location is stunning - abutting the rim of the Canyon. You couldn’t improve on it. And the staff are friendly, courteous, and efficient. But the hotel itself is shamefully inadequate. First, there is no signage for it as you drove in -

I can tell you Kachina has a very comfortable bed . We stayed in updated room. I don’t know if all rooms are now updated. We stayed last week of March 2018, parked in front of El Tovar and never moved the car again until we checked out because parking is difficult. Don’t need to drive car around, the shuttles are efficient. Walking, even better.

Our room had air conditioning.. I do remember the hallways being a little stuffy. Maybe there was no air conditioning in the hallways.

Is there a pool at Kachina Lodge?
It seems like they did along time ago because there is a very old pic of one on their site but that is nowhere mentioned by visitors or the site as an amenity.
