Bright Angel Lodge, designed in 1935 by famed Southwest architect Mary E.J. Colter, has a natural rustic character and is a Registered National Historic Landmark. This iconic lodge and its surrounding cabins are rich with cultural history. Under the direction of the Santa Fe Railroad, Colter was tasked to design a fresh look for Bright Angel Lodge in an effort to provide more moderately priced lodging in contrast to El Tovar “up the hill.” She drew inspirations from many local sources in her architecture. Today, the Bright Angel Lodge and surrounding cabins serves as an iconic remembrance of its colorful past. Located at the top of Bright Angel Trail Head, the facility sees visitors from all around the world. Bright Angel Lodge also features The Harvey House Café, a family-friendly restaurant serving diner classics prepared in the Fred Harvey tradition from biscuits & gravy to gourmet burgers and fajitas. The Harvey House is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Great accommodation. The accommodation is a number of lodges and they are all close to the rim. They are warm and comfortable as well as 'quaint' in keeping with their history. Amenities are clean. Dining options are available in the village. We were very pleased we stayed there rather than travelling into the park.

Loved this stay. You cannot beat the location. Our cabin was just a few feet away from the trailhead for Bright Angel Trail, so while everyone else was looking for a parking space, I was already on the trail. The cabins are also right next to the lodge with its restaurant, gift shop, snack bar, etc. A few of the cabins face the canyon and one even had adirondack chairs for a relaxing canyon view. The rooms themselves are a bit dated (our carpet was a bit threadbare) and the walls between the next room and ours were a bit thin, but the room itself was comfortable.

One of the best experience of visiting Grand Canyon is stay inside the park, where the canyon is just right out of the door step. it was very convenient. The lodge was well-kept. Bathroom and showers are common in the lodge that I stayed. Breakfasts was not included in the rate. Carparks are available.

We stayed in Buckey's Lodge - room with bathroom, but shared shower. Room itself was clearly renovated recently - we were expecting a more 'rustic' room - but were very impressed how clean and stylish the room was. Only stayed 2 nights, so no shower in the room wasn't a bit deal at all.....but even if the room wasn't so nice, I'd highly rate for location - no view from the room, but SO CLOSE to the rim - nicely to wake up, through on clothes and walk out to the rim trail for sunrise over the canyon. Unforgettable.

My wife and I stayed in the cabins. It was the perfect size for us for two nights and being close to the rim trail made it easy to get around the park. Parking can be a challenge if you arrive during the day when most of the park is full; however, it clears out in the afternoon. The restaurant selection could certainly be better as there are only a few options for the number of people there. El Tovar was the exception as dinner there was great!

Our room was not the best. There was no cross breeze, so it was very hot at night. There's no air conditioning, only a fan. The room was small and rustic. There were very limited options for breakfast. Dining was limited due to COVID.

For reservations in high season, bookings a year in advance are recommended, especially when you want to have a room with private shower. It is a nice place to stay. The location can't be better, the service is very welcoming (thanks Christine in the bar, people at the reception desk, waiters in the restaurant). We could make our own coffee and tea in the room. Despite the fact there is a lack of staff in general (the restaurant had to close one day because of this problem), we enjoyed our stay. The shop is nice, too, I bought clothes there.

Some how I managed to score a corner room with a Queen + Twin bed for our family trip to the Grand Canyon in April 2022 (2 adults + 1 teen). It was amazing! Being able to be literally on the edge of the canyon is an experience I won't forget. Our room was in the main building at the end of the hall near the door but it didn't bother us at all. The bathroom was tight but it worked out fine for the three of us. I highly recommend getting up early and taking the shuttle all the way to the end of the line and walking your way back. We seemed to miss all of the crowds and lines for hopping on/off the shuttles as everyone else was going the other way! We did eat dinner in the hotel restaurant which was just okay. I would definitely stay here again!

We stayed in a cabin; it was cute and clean. A little on the small size but there were just the 2 of us we don't need much. The price was decent, and the views were AMAZING! We were just steps away from the rim, literally just steps! We did have a hard time finding our cabin in the dark since we went to see the sunset before dropping off our stuff. We would definitely stay here again and will recommend it to friends.

We enjoy, whenever possible, staying in our great National Parks at their historic lodges. This one is one we will fondly remember. It is well located right on the South Rim--near the Rim Trail and the Bright Angel Trail and other properties of interest as well as plenty of places to eat and even shop IF one wishes to. Our cabin was quaint, clean, and large enough for us. Every employee we encountered from front desk to restaurant staff to sales staff was friendly and professional. We loved the historic architecture of the main lodge as well as our cabin and we loved touring the historic museum. We would absolutely recommend to anyone who will not be frightened by the price and who can book months in advance. We would love to stay here again.
