The location next to the Grand Canyon and the view from the room can't be beat. The room, when you enter, is clean and well decorated. The room seemed cold and is warmed by floor heaters next to the walls. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom looks good but was freezing cold with a ice cold floor. The heating element...

This was a nice hotel in the Grand Canyon. I highly recommend staying in the village rather than outside. You get the Canyon to yourself in the mornings and evenings (at least we did - but we did go in the winter). The rooms are comfortable and well furnished and clean. Service was great. Drawbacks (shouldn't deter from staying -...

This place looked very boring from the outside. Not appealing at all. Once inside the room, everything was clean, new and comfortable. And of course, a view to die for. Totally worth staying on the rim, especially for sunrises and sunsets.

We had a non view room, but we walked across to angel lodge around 8:00 - 8:30 in the morning on Dec 26th a clear day and the views were spectacular in the morning sun without the crowds. Late evenings were lovely too. We paid for location but I was very glad for the K-cups coffee in the room especially...

The Thunderbird left a lot to be desired...the basic room had some small upgrades, a decent bed and clean bathroom, but for over $250, my expectations were higher. The true reason to stay here is that it is steps from the Canyon Rim. A bus system makes it easy to move to various viewing points and is centrally located for...

Compared with other national park lodges, Thunderbird is actually in the reasonable range for what they offer. It has a fridge (not very cold tho), and first one I've been that serve k cups for coffee and lots of them. The staff is courteous but varies in services, I had a not so polite receptionist on check-in and a better...

The Thunderbird Lodge was a great place to stay to see the South Rim. The only negative about the location was the parking...or lack of such. Once we found a place, we didn't move the car again. The location was perfect and right on the rim. Everything was within walking distance. The room and bathroom were modern (I think it...

The Thunderbird is dated but clean. We had a great first floor view of the canyon, right along a 3-4 mile long path along the south rim. The coolest part of this hotel room was the shampoo, conditioner and body lotions dispensed in a unique and remarkable way. Parking is very hard to find at times

The Thunderbird is an ugly building and it's not even on the tourist maps because no one wants to see it. We wandered around for 30 minutes trying to figure out how to check in because there's no sign and it turns out you check in at the Bright Angel. Our room was clean and it did have a rim...

The room is not much. It looks and feels old or "rustic" might be better. There was a bit of a musty smell in the room, but it did look clean. What makes it worth it is that it is a few step from the south rim. The view is perfect once you go outside. What is also nice, is...
