The hotel location was fantastic. Parking was very difficult. The room itself was very nice and clean and comfortable. The reason I rate so low is the partial view we paid for. It is not worth it at all. I would recommend staying here without a view. You can walk outside 50 feet and see the canyon. Very expensive but... More

rooms are very small. but bigger than a tent. we had view of the canyon. price was good. no elevators, but we had what they called a Handicap room near an entrance where there were no stairs. don't forget, you have to check in at bright angel lodge first.

basic but well kept hotel on the rim of the south canyon. We were on the second floor and overlooked the first floor roof top but had partial canyon view too. Coffee maker keurig type in the room with coffee and tea. Beds were comfortable too.

You're here for the Canyon. So stay as close as you can, and this is it! Clean comfy room, good hot shower, in-room Keurig; that's all you need. Everything else is right outside the door, all the time! We lucked out on a parking space (desk man said they were scarce) Service is very pleasant. For us, perfect!

Having read some of the reviews before we went, we really weren't expecting much out of Thunderbird Lodge, so we were pleasantly surprised by the spacious room with a decent sized private bathroom, tea and coffee making facilities and in-room wifi. The room was spotless and quiet. The best thing about this place is its proximity to the South Rim... More

I expected the lodge to be very basic but in fact it was very comfortable. The rooms could do with modernising but let's face it, you don't come here to stay in your room. Plenty of free tea and coffee, 2 comfy queen beds, clean bathroom. We had restricted canyon view but we could see the canyon clearly as we... More

I went on a family holiday and the xpecting a nice view of the Grand Canyon and a nice spacious room but we were wrong the room was tiny no tv no air conditioning and the view was 60% roof than the Grand Canyon. The restaurant was over priced for the food we got. I ordered a steak and chips... More

We stayed for 2 nights at Thunderbird Lodge. As this was our first visit to the Grand Canyon, we wanted to stay as close as possible to the Canyon and you don't get any closer than being perched right on the Canyon Rim - and this is what Thunderbird Lodge gives you. Our room had 2 x Queen beds and... More

I was expecting a little less. The hotel is a little dated but the rooms are excellently done all things considered. Food in the bar left a little to be desired but it's all about the location. If you can stay in the village it makes all the difference. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

As first-timers at the Grand Canyon the Thunderbird Lodge with its fntastic view was perfect for my college-aged daughter and me. The rooms themselves are pretty pedestrian: dated in its look but with comfortable beds and a good bathroom with lots of hot water delivered at good pressure and decent towels. There is a fridge, hair dryer, iron and ironing... More
