The four of us hiked down the south Kaibab trail spent one night in a cabin at Phantom Ranch and hiked up the north Kaibab trail on the 25th 2016. I would not recommend hiking the south trail again. It was 98% steps! All in all the hike was fun. The cabin was great and the hot showers even better.... More

The 1st time I hiked down the Grand Canyon, I was completely unprepared and uninformed. So we had to hike back up-out the same day. I strongly do not recommend that! The 2nd time we were much more prepared and had made reservations over a year earlier for three to stay in a "cabin" at Phantom Ranch. Meals paid for... More

For our 31st anniversary, we went with Wildland Trekking to Phantom Ranch. Although we were sore from the hike, we thoroughly enjoyed Phantom Ranch! The cabin had 2 sets of bunk beds, toilet and sink. The bath house had hot showers. The dinners and breakfasts were quite good. Not sure about the fussy reviews some people have posted here. The... We just came back from two nights staying at Phantom Ranch after a guided hike into the canyon. After hiking 7.5 miles down the South Kaibob trail, we were assigned a bunk in an air conditioned but very simple single sex dormitory. Basically clean, but well used. (Cabins are also on the property but were already booked a year ahead.)... More

Booked as a part of the 2 day mule ride from the south rim. Phantom ranch was great. Clean room, very helpful and friendly staff, and good food. One of the best steaks I've eaten. There are a bunch of ways to get there...hike, mule or raft or some combination of the three. All of these involve some travel that... More

Our family was lucky enough to get reservations here in 2012 and it was amazing!so amazing that we are trying to get reservations for 2017. We have gotten up on the 1st of every month, ready to hit re-dial as many times as it takes. We have managed to get through but once we hit the #1 prompt that should... More

Rustic accomodations with some modern ammenities like heat/air conditioning in the cabins. Best family style food on the planet. Friendly, helpful staff. Informative Ranger talks in the afternoon and under the stars after supper.

Four of us hiked to Phantom Ranch from the South Rim. I had last stayed at Phantom Ranch 15 yrs ago finding then that the service ran from idifferent to surly. This, no doubt, stemmed from the fact that the concessiomaire enjoys a National Park Service monoploy. Late last month we visited once more. At the first night's dinner my wife... More

The staff of Phantom Ranch work under unbelievable conditions in an unbelievable place. They are always up beat and helpful no matter how obnoxious a hiker or mule rider might be to them. I've stayed in both the cabins and dormitories over the years and they are always clean when I arrive, and considering how hikers and mule riders arrive,... More

We recently took a hiking trip to the Grand Canyon thru Wildland Treking co. Our guide Rachel Harman was amazing. She was knowledgable and fun and made our whole experience a trip of a lifetime. I would strongly encourage anyone considering hiking to the bottom of the canyon to use this company and most especially Rachel as your guide
