Stayed here for two weeks in a group campsite. What an awesome experience. I would highly recommend this for family. Close to everything with quick free shuttle access around park too. The only gripe I have is the smoke. It seems to hang in the air more so than other sites.

I tent camped in Apgar as well as Avalanche Creek. Avalanche Creek has the advantage of being right on the trailhead of the crowded trail to Avalanche Lake, but Apgar is a far superior campground featuring nicer bathrooms, more campsites (if you're worried about finding one), and easy access to the visitor's center and Apgar Village. The camping experience here... More

The best part of this campground was its proximity to Lake McDonald. Our group of 24 took up a good chunk of the group camping area, but we all had plenty of room. The fire pits were nice for sitting around. The bathroom facilities were nice for the campground. Super easy walk into Apgar village.

Great campground! The largest of the first-come, first-serve campgrounds in Glacier you need to get there early in July to get a spot. We got there at around 8:30 - 9am and were able to get a spot. I believe that this is somewhat unusual due to very heavy visitation at Glacier this year. The campground is fairly level with... More

I entered the park via the St Mary entrance, and had not planned on driving Going to the Sun Road (I was going to take the shuttle from camp), but I got to the park at 8:30am instead of the 6:30am I had planned. So, campsites were full, and four hours later, I ended up in Apgar (which I figured... More

This was my first time to Glacier National Park and let me tell you, it is absolutely WONDERFUL and I was so, so sad to leave and go home! We stayed in the Apgar Campground at site E08 which is RIGHT next to the bathrooms (which I loved!! Also next to the dumpster which was convenient after cooking dinner and... More

Loved Apgar VILLAGE... loved the lake, the atmosphere. the food at the restaurant was a little pricey, but very good. I will definitely be back and will be staying at Apgar Village. I suggest renting the bear spray when you get there. Buying bear spray was anywhere from $45 to $55 everywhere... renting a can of it in Apgar will... More

We spent a night here visiting with friends before traveling on Going To The Sun Road the next day. We took two campsites-one for a camper and one tent site. Both were adequate for what we wanted. There are no showers here so you have to heat your own water with a propane stove and bathe very discreetly (especially in... More

The setting was beautiful with tall canopy of trees. Our experience was marred by noisy neighbors who did not quiet down until they were reminded start of quiet hour. Even before the quiet hour, everyone else was just enjoying the quietness of the forest except these neighbors.

Knowing online that there are 25 lots available for 40- ft RV, we came here. However, even at the registration kiosk, there was no information on where those lots are. Out of anxiety(came in late and saw many RVs pulling in), we parked at one of the smallest lot for our 40ft beast. Dumping and portable water top-up are available.... More
