Lodge offers simple room with bath, but attraction is location and staff. We saw Denali each day. Naturalist guides for hikes and bus rides, all informed and experienced.Food is excellent and other guests are cordial and eager to share experiences. Bikes on site and exclusive canoe rights on Wonder Lake, reflecting Denali. We prefer North Face to sister, Camp Denali,... More

This was a lovely stay for several days--90 miles into the remote back country of Denali. Very nice lodge and room; good food; wonderful nature, hikes, etc. Guides and staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. Reserve way ahead.

this was an amazing trip; bus ride in - hairpin turns with 5000 ft drops was worth it; food was excellent; guides were excellent, very educated and knowledgeable; rooms were very comfortable; and we were lucky enough that denali showed her face on a sunny afternoon; we saw moose; caribou; bear and ptmargin. I would recommend a 5 night stay;... More

The comraderie that develops between staff and guests during your 3/4 day stay enhances this informative exposure to the breathtaking natural environment. Every need is met with healthy gourmet dining, guided walks, equipment and lectures. For someone who cannot manage short walks to meals and transportation the North Face Lodge is the best option but the serenity from the top... More

A simply wonderful place and experience in a very remote area of Denali National Park. Everything is first class, including food and superb personal treatment by personnel. When heated hand-clothes were handed out to everyone on the gourmet picnic on the way to the lodge, I knew it was going to be different and wonderful! Such attention on the birding... More

To coin the phrase "I Love Not Camping". Yet we wanted to experience deep Denali other than a cramped bus ride. North Face solved all of that! They take care of everything (except BYOB) from the train station pick up to return for 3/4 days. We started with the 90 mile drive to the lodge (no private cars after 15... More

The staff was incredible and more than knowledgeable about the park, wildlife and ecology. I had expected a rustic stay but was pleasantly surprised by the wonderful menus, food and accommodations. The rooms were smaller than most hotels but the park and staff more than made up for it. My hubby and I have different expectations for physical effort and... More

Everything about North Face Lodge is wonderful. We spent 4 nights there the first week in July and the wild flowers were spectacular. The hikes were wonderful and there is one for every level of experience and fitness. The food was delicious, the setting beautiful. The rooms were simple but comfortable. You do have to bring in your own drinks...alcoholic,... More

The staff, facilities, food and activities at North Face Lodge are so good that we didn't even notice that we only had one day of partial sunshine out of the five we spent there (the rest were cold, rain and snow). As one of our naturalists said, "There's no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing." And North Face... More

We spent 4 nights at North Face Lodge Aug 17-21. We picked the lodge because we wanted to see a lot of nature and wildlife, and because of the guided hikes which are standouts primarily due the expertise and knowledge of the guides. When booking keep in mind that there are currently are two arrival dates, Mondays and Fridays. Four... More
