We didn't expect this campground to be very crowded in October, but as it was a weekend, we should have known better. We didn't arrive until 6:00, and every site was full. As this part of the park is pretty remote with nothing else around, we were really concerned as we needed to get settled somewhere before it got dark....

We decided to stay on the north rim rather than the south because the campground was small - only 13 sites and it was best suited for tents. The sites a close together and there isn't much privacy but that is expected in most campgrounds I have found. We brought our own water as we were uncertain whether there would...

The North Rim of the canyon itself is amazing- this review is for the campground. My husband and I decided to stay at the North Rim campground after reading the reviews about how much more private and less crowded it was than the South Rim campground. We were so disappointed at how close all the sites were! We arrived around...

First thing.... Here comes ranger. Says NO generators are allowed. I had checked prior with BOTH park headquarters. NO Problem, just quiet between 10:00 and 6:00. It is also posted at kiosk at entrance, just quiet times. They cater to the climbers specifically. Ranger makes his own rules and ignores his climber buddies violations, DOGS running loose, parties all night,...

Need a place to hang your hammock in privacy? Here's the perfect location. Sites were very generous. You just have to drive a bunch. It sure is quiet here. Not that many sites and no reservations. Pit toilets were fairly clean. Lots of bugs so bring repellant. I only got one bite, however someone else got over 20. I guess...

The camp area is small...which is a good thing! The sites are spaced fairly far apart, and the pit toilet was a quick walk away. The campground is near an overlook that gives an amazing view of the canyon, and after doing some sightseeing we drove around to the much more crowded south side, which was a different experience indeed.

Spacious sites, quiet and rustic. Pit toilet and bring wood in from town, we also had to go by the ranger's station for water. Having said that, definitely worth it. Great hiking with spectacular views. Just a great camping experience. At night two groups of coyotes yipped at each other from different sides of the canyon. Can't get that in...
