This is a nice place to visit but unfortunately the food is not good, at least my food. I'm vegetarian and asked for a change on my meal, they didn't make the change. I went with a group of north-americans and since I'm not north-american they didn't make the change. One of the gringos asked for a change and they changed the service immediately (not surprise at all). The worst part is that my meal was horrible, the rice was burnt and the salad was bitter and my drink wasn't what I ordered. Of course they got preferences with no-nicaraguans (people from other countries) and I felt dissed but I faked my face of "this is a good meal". My service just sucked!
Nice eco hotel in the mountains. Beautifull situated and friendly. 2 stars, simple but clean and cheap. Good Kitchen and fine place to relax. The staf and owner have different projects to help the local people.
El Sueño de la Campana and San Ramon is probably our favourite spot after spending five weeks in Nicaragua. The sleepy mountain village is a great starting point for exploring the area and mountains, coffee estates, waterfalls, hikes and the absolutely stunning nature surrounding the spot. El Sueño de la Campana is a great hotel, the price absolutely reasonable for what your getting and clean, nice atmosphere. Due to the elevation of San Ramon the temperature is superb, cool but not at all cold at night. If you're in for a tour make sure to contact or ask for Dixon Mendez, who's the son of Yolanda, he's an absolutely great guy, honest and English-speaking. We ended up at SC twice during our travel - it's addictive :)!!
I arrived to the hotel for a training activity and I decided to stay at this wonderful place. You will find butterflies and geckos made by artisans in everywhere. You can see the mist by the 6 am, and you will enjoy walking tracks full of nature. The rooms are located at the top of a hill, so you will enjoy silent by night. No air conditions and it is just three, yes 3 minutes far from highway. It also have a place for watching all around in the top of the hill. Wonderful place and it is not expensive.
After a very long day of hiking the hostel was a well earned rest. They were able to accommodate to a group of 15 people. They provided amazing food for all of us, and a birthday cake for one of the guests. The rooms already had mosquito nets above the beds which was a God sent. The only problem with this hostel was the showers that were dirty.
