A wonderful stay of a few nights in Senglea at The Snop House. We arrived quite early in the day i.e. well ahead of the allowed check in - but this seemed no issue at all (in fact it was noted on our welcome documents so the team were prepared). Actually nothing seemed a problem all the time we were there and everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. Our room was fantastic and remained cool despite the hot weather outside. There was very little need of the aircon (only used this for a little blast to cool me down when coming in from town). Nice and spacious, big comfortable bed - and wonderfully soft pillows! (A very good sign). There was chilled water in the mini-fridge (this is topped up every morning - or can help ourselves from the dispenser in the kitchen). The room was tastefully done out and everything about the place was very ‘boutique’. Lots of little touches just to make it that little bit special. Really friendly team and owners. Lovely breakfast. Home made yoghurts. Fresh fruit. One morning we even got home made savoury pastries that were stunning. The location is great. Senglea seems to be a place of ‘locals' and free of the tourist ‘masses’. Only a 10 minute walk down to the ferry which whisked us across to Valletta (a good tip is that the ferry ticket allows you free use of the Barrakka lift in Valletta which is an amazing way to save the legs as it takes you to the top of town. Quite impressive - and much needed). Loved the honesty bar upstairs and the roof terrace. Lovely views - and really relaxing. Enjoyed some good Maltese Chardonnay - and much cheaper than in a bar! In fact, we were the only ones using the roof terrace in the late evening. So relaxing. Returning from the ferry we learned that it was better to take the steps a little further along the marina - as considerably less challenging on tired legs. To be honest, The Snop House is a wonderful - and friendly - retreat from the hustle and bustle of Malta. We loved it.

If I could, I would give this place a rating of 11! Where to start..... excellent location in Senglea on a quiet street with groceries and pharmacies close by. Walking distance to the water front where you will find excellent restaurants with a beautiful view. The ferry to Valleta is also a 15 mins walk from the hotel. We had a larger room facing the street with an excellent bed and large bathroom. The whole building is adorned with pieces of art personally selected by the owners. Breakfast is served downstairs and comprises of fresh bread and baked items, yogurt, jams (you must try the prickly pear jam), hard boiled eggs, cheese and cold cuts, and of course any type of coffee you desire. But what makes the place so inviting are both Shawn and Matthew at the reception, as well as the housekeeping staff, who go the extra step to make you feel right at home. Sublime!

Excellent hosts: friendly, professional, helpful, very quick to fix any issues with the room. Great sized room, with impressive decor and furnishings. Fantastic continental breakfasts (no cooked food apart from boiled eggs), freshly prepared to order. Plenty of good quayside restaurants available, a few minutes' walk down the hill (there are lots of steps, but these can be avoided if you take a longer route down). The ferry to Valletta is approx 10 minutes' walk away, with departures roughly every half hour. There is lots of street parking available, free of charge. We couldn't fault this hotel, and would highly recommend.

I stayed at The Snop House for 9 days while visiting with family in Malta. I cannot say enough about this lovely boutique hotel. The housekeeping staff was amazing. I was never in need of anything. Shaun who served me breakfast every morning was a delight. There was also another young man who filled in for him but unfortunately I don’t remember his name. They were both wonderful. Everyone was always very accommodating. I have stayed at other hotels in Malta both large and small. The Snop House was my favorite hotel by far.

Wow! What a fantastic boutique hotel in a great location. All of the staff make you feel welcome. The rooms we had 'Cabrighar' & 'Timouzokro' were beautiful and the roof top terrace is amazing. Would definitely recommend.

A superb , very discreet, hotel ideal for a long city break. We stayed for six nights. A very comfortable, en-suite double room on the third floor with shuttered windows which opened onto the street below. The hotel has a wonderful roof top terrace , complete with a well stocked honesty bar. It has splendid views over the harbour. Breakfast is a real treat! A wide selection of cold meats and cheeses, homemade yoghurts, local delicacies, teas and coffees. I always enjoyed my soft boiled egg and yogurt; my partner, the muesli, yoghurt. I requested de-caf tea, they did not have it for my first breakfast, but they ensured it was supplied for the rest of our stay. Breakfast was always served by either Shaun, Andrew or David - all three are a great asset to the hotel. Always helpful, if indeed enthusiastic with their great level of service. The hotel is handy for the bus stop which is only a minute’s walk from the front door, a short walk down to the waterfront for a good array of restaurants, and the ferry over to Valletta. Certainly a place we would return to. Five stars to all of the staff! Thank you. Ian & John.

The Snop House was the perfect base for our Malta vacation, boasting a terrific location close to the ferry, a stunning view, comfortable rooms, a delicious breakfast, and wonderfully friendly staff. While our room was a tad cozy, the spacious bathroom and private terrace, as well as the rooftop with an honesty bar, more than made up for any difficulties wrangling luggage. We’ll most assuredly be back!
