We stayed here for a week whilst we toured around Malta, mainly by bus. The owner and his staff were very friendly and helpful, and the small hotel is very modern, clean and comfortable. It is a bit like staying in somebody's town house, rather than a normal hotel. We had a 1st floor room with a balcony that looked onto a small central atrium above the breakfast and kitchen area. It was a bit odd that the balcony was accessed via the bathroom, which limited ventilation and practicality, but it was not a major problem. The bedroom was not that big, and had limited daylight with no television, so not a place to hang around in if the weather was poor. Unfortunately, noise from people talking early in the morning in the breakfast/kitchen area often woke us up, so a room on a higher floor would be better. The bathroom was lovely, but I'm not sure if our shower was faulty as the water temperature was not stable. Breakfast was nice and food plentiful, with personal service at the tables by the owner, although my wife did miss her fresh fruit and yoghurts in the morning. There is a guest lounge area adjacent to reception, and an honesty bar on the top floor next to the roof terrace, which was nice. The hotel is only a 10 minute walk to the ferry across the harbour to Valetta, which is very cheap to use. There are lots of steps to be negotiated though. There are also decent restaurants nearby around the harbour, so you don't have to eat in Valetta. We enjoyed our stay, and would recommend this place if you are not looking for a typical hotel. But I would ask for a room with an outside window on a higher floor if possible. Also, we found the chauffeur/taxi service used by the owner a bit expensive. Just get a normal taxi at the airport - it's cheaper. All in all, a very nice small friendly hotel, but a few issues for the owner to address if he can.....the "taxi" service, the noise coming up early from the breakfast area, the shower temperature, and breakfast choices (maybe go self service?).... and it would make it even better! Try it!

For our trip to Malta we decided to stay in the Snop House. At first sight it looks very nondescript from the outside but modern and with descent charm from the inside. It is located in a local area of the city of Senglea, right opposite Valletta and next to Vittoriosa. In less than 10 minutes walk range you'll find the harbour with some good restaurants (Our recommendations are the Enchanté and the Hammett´s Macina on the Senglea side and the Burmula Wine Bar on the Vittoriosa side) and the ferry to Valletta. All restaurants are in close walking distance. We chose the Timouzokro room. It is quite big with a Maltese Balcony and very well decorated. The bed is comfortable, the bathroom is big as well and it has a bathtub. The rooms will be cleaned every day. A small refrigerator, electric kettle and a small selection of teas and coffee as well as fresh drinking water will be found in the entrance area of the room. There is no TV but free Wifi available. On the most upper floor is a little honesty bar with a Nespresso coffee machine and a fridge with local beer, wine and lemonade. And to round this all up a little roof top terrace with a stunning view is waiting for a visit. But the best of all, are the hosts of this place. For us, the staff of the Snop House make this place perfect and unique. Manuel and David are the perfect hosts giving you a feeling of sitting for breakfast in the kitchen with your family. They are not always present, but always reachable. The way they treated us while we stayed with them was extraordinary. Always well informed about the latest news, always giving good advices on what to do and where to go, always taking care of us - especially when we were stuck in Malta, thanks to Covid-19. Amazing - thank you!

This place does tick the boxes of what you would want from a place to stay. Everything had been thought out really well and there are some great extra touches such as coffee pods and different teas that are really nice. The room wasn't huge but that wasn't a big deal and the quality of finish made up for that. Manuel and David were on hand to give some useful advice for the local area and the breakfasts were excellent. Thanks for having us.

A beautiful 6 room hotel in a quiet and attractive part of Senglea. Our room was small but comfortable with a modern stylish shower room. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and because of the size of the hotel, we were made to feel almost part of the family. The owner's love of contemporary art was reflected in the beautiful artworks everywhere in the hotel. Snop House is well located - next to a bus stop and 10 minutes walk to the ferry for Valetta.

We stayed at the Snop House for 4 nights. The house is tastefully furnished with quality furniture and fittings and interesting pieces of art throughout. There are 6 rooms in all. Ours on the second floor was huge with a traditional enclosed balcony, large bathroom and separate area with wardrobes and drawers. A kettle is provided in the room and Clarins shower gel and shampoo in the bathroom. Breakfast is served in an intimate courtyard and in the kitchen. It’s typical continental breakfast. One day we had Manuel’s home made apple pie which was a good addition. The location is very quiet and a perfect base to return to after busy days in Valetta. The return ferry (5-10 mins walk away) is only €0.90 return for over 60s! Remember to take your ID. There are some good restaurants nearby in Senglea and Birgu which is walkable. Manuel prepared breakfast every day and was very informative about places to visit. He and David who showed us around when we arrived are very friendly and helpful. Would advise using Bolt if you’re coming from the airport, cost is €9-€11 I would thoroughly recommend this house as a base for visiting Valletta.
