The beer was fine; the food was good; but once upon a time this was a beautiful country pub. I am sure that it had to be updated. The interior appeals to the likes of George Osborne which may nor may not be a recommendation but the rural nature of the garden with its flocks of soaring house martins has... More

Very pretty village with two duck ponds! Attractive looking pub inside and out. Very tasteful decor. Very comfy , large double bed. Large , modern bathroom . Accommodation was very clean, with tea and coffee making facility in bedroom. Very good food. Staff very helpful. We had a wonderful stay.

We stayed for 2 nights and really enjoyed it. Our room was in a smallish purpose built building to the rear of the pub, near the car park. The bed was excellent, 6 foot wide, firm and very comfy. Good quality linen, it was all newish. The bathroom was very well appointed with a quality shower and thick towels. The... More

I've eaten here a few times and generally ignored the issues with service as the food has usually been acceptable. However this time there were pretty glaring faults with both. When we arrived, we stood and waited patiently at the end of the bar whilst the chap behind the bar busily typed something into the computer. I don't mind waiting... More

I stayed here on business and it made being away from my own home very pleasurable. The accommodation was good value and the food is *amazing* and not over priced, not to mention the very friendly staff. I will definitely be coming back when I'm working in the area. Such a wonderful little find! Only small thing is, it's quite... More

On approach, the Dabbling Duck looks idyllic and on entering our accommodation we knew we had booked the right place. It was just perfect. Wonderfully decorated by someone with a real 'eye' for style, well equipped, lovely linen and a very comfy bed. So, a shower, change and down to the 'pub' for a pint or two and dinner. It... More

I didn't appreciate that I would be sleeping above a noisy bar with the smoking area below my window. The bar also had late opening hours over the weekend and I could clearly here the tracks being played downstairs. If you're look in to chill and catch up on some sleep this isn't the place. This was my main issue.... More

This pub is in a very pretty little village with 2 ponds - very useful for walking round in and effort to lose some of the calories put on whilst indulging in the lovely food this pub has to offer. It's a cosy pub even though it's quite big. We sat in a dinning area with a fire place, that... More
