This is the only accommodation for about 50 km along an infrequently travelled route but is well worth seeking out. An historic coach inn from the 1860's that has been extended in the 1990's to a restaurant/bar/hotel. The extension is beautiful, and the old hotel rooms are very atmospheric if ageing. The restaurant food is first class and very reasonably... More

What a unique place. Despite the cold, frost and snow, it was warm inside...a lovely big open fire. No tv or phone coverage....just good old fashioned fun and laughter in the evening with other people staying there. Great way of meeting others. Food was lovely despite being a little cold and running out of dessert dishes. Bar facilities and ambience... More

This property has an amazing feel about it. The hosts make you feel so welcome and the coffee and food was on my two visits well above the industry standard making it worth the extra mile. The cake is especially special! We didn't stay but looked at the rooms and would love to! The rooms are gorgeous and would be... More

So nice to come across this Inn at the end of a challenging drive from Duntroon to Naseby. The roaring fire, huge soft leather couches and ye olde worlde atmosphere were very welcoming. The food quality was good but very slow service on the day that we visited.

We stopped off at this Inn on route to Dunedin from Christchurch and after a beautiful (but bumpy) journey we arrived at 8pm(ish) in the last light of the day. Our check in / room key service was very prompt with a very big smile from the recently new managing staff. After dropping off our bags in the beautifully appointed... More

Was here for a wedding back in March- what a stunning venue! The drive out to the coach inn has some awesome views of the country and it really showed in the wedding photos. Although it is a fair way to get out to, the inn does a really good job of hosting such events. The food was so good,... More

Stayed here for 2 nights and found the hospitality to be extremely professional, helpful and friendly. The locals (Phil and Graeme) were amazing and took my partner and I into the bush Goldmining to their patch where we got a bit of gold. The food was adequate and the wine selection was good. No complaints other than the lighting was... More

Danseys Pass Coach Inn was a very welcome addition to our trip along the spectacular Central Otago Rail Trail. Some way off the trail, this is well and truly worth the effort. Tucked within a spectacular valley the stone building is immaculately restored with a rustic theme and large open fire - perfect on a cold night with a whiskey... More

This is a great place to visit for a glimpse of the past. The main lounge and dining room have an authentic rustic look from the coach era and the hotel is located in an attractive setting. The staff were excellent and the food top of the range and good value for money. The only let down were the rooms... More

It was wonderful to turn the corner and see the hotel after a long winding drive over the pass. You could almost image how it must ofbeing for travelers taking the same route years ago. The hotel is wonderful with a great room with comfy sofas and a roaring fire. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the food... More
