My wife and I have both stayed and dined here many times before. This visit was to partake of the tasting menu for my wife's 70th birthday. I was disappointed that , although having been notified in advance, no mention was made of our celebration. Our usual glass of pre dinner prosecco was also missibg. The warm welcome we had come to expect from the lovely Italian manager was absent, as we were informed he had been moved to the village pub.His absence definitely detracts from the ambiance of the Hall. For the most part, the food was lovely, with the exception of the roast pork. The fat far exceeded the meat on the plate giving one the impression 16 had turned up for dinner instead of the 8 expected! Our bottle of wine clearly had a problem with it. It was sent back, but we barely received an apology. £18.45 was added to our account for the privilege of being served!

We were looking forward to meeting up with friends from Melton Mowbray, and Goldsbourgh Hall was an excellent mid point. Having enjoyed previous visits, we had no doubts about suggesting the hotel for our reunion, and we were not disappointed. Warm welcome from Dawn who quickly checked us in and then a lovely cream tea with our friends on the terrace. The grounds were as immaculate as ever and the kitchen garden is a joy to behold. Our suite was spacious and the enormous bed ensured a good nights sleep. Dinner in the imposing dining room was very enjoyable. We were looked after by Luke who took our order in the comfortable lounge and brought out wonderful canapés to wet our appetite for the tasting menu which followed. Excellent service from Megan on food and Anna on wine, who described each course as they were served. Another very enjoyable visit and we have no hesitation in recommending the hotel.

We went to a wedding ‘evening do’. The building itself is impressive but for the wedding there was a makeshift tiny bar in the doorway with one member of staff serving, this in itself caused the service to be very slow but to make it worse the barman had no idea on the prices of drinks. Each drink had to be looked up on the menu to establish the price and then unbelievably he had to go onto his mobile phone to find the calculator to add up the bill! They had one lager on draught and for some reason it tasted really sweet which wasn’t great. We brought this to the attention to the bar staff and he totally agreed with us stating that he believed it was a bad batch. Why would such a large establishment not be able to change the barrel to alleviate the issue? As a consequence we spent the entire night drinking small bottles of lager at £5.50 a go! Not impressed at all.

Stayed here using a voucher purchased which included the fabulous tasting meal and breakfast. Stayed in the Wharton suite overlooking the beautiful gardens which meander into a woodland walk through to a fruit orchard. You can visit the Bay horse pub through a gate into their beer garden. The hall is beautiful and steeped in history. Our room was spacious and the bed very comfy with duck filled pillows and duvet so had the best night sleep and very peaceful. The tasting menu was well presented with organically grown ingredients used from the gardens and we enjoyed the different tastes of each course. The breakfast was wonderful and left having a fabulous stay and very relaxed. The staff were all very pleasant and couldn’t do enough for you. Thank you Dawn on reception for all your help. Highly recommend and hope to return.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful hotel. The grounds are well kept and lovely to walk around. The staff were all very friendly and obliging. We stayed in The York room which was a lovely airy room with pleasant views over the gardens. The food was amazing and beautifully presented. The duck herding was hilarious and caused lots of laughter. Would recommend to anyone wanting a relaxing, friendly break. Thank you to all involved in making our stay so memorable.

We were given a voucher as wedding present for an overnight stay with tasting menu and breakfast. When we made the booking, the staff took extra details such as special requests. I am pregnant so there were some specific diet requirements. When we arrived, we were amazed by how stunning the ground is, how beautiful the Hall is. The room we stayed at was the Oglesby - it had a large four poster bed! We loved it, the room had everything we needed including a mini fridge with fresh milk, tea and coffee, bathrobes and slippers, a large table with chairs, and an ensuite with rain shower and a jacuzzi bath! The 6 course tasting menu was also top notch. Every course was beautifully presented and delicately prepared. You can tell the staff also took pride in what they had to offer. They did a special menu for me because of the pregnancy and made sure everything in the food was appropriately prepared and cooked. Every staff had been so attentive and friendly and we loved our stay here. We would definitely recommend anyone who is considering to have function, wedding, or a treat for loved ones! PS. they even have a tesla charger! We had to charge our car at the ground and it was super fast!
