If you need to escape and your idea of bliss is to soar like an eagle and recharge in nature - then read on. Cucayo is a stunning mountain hamlet which feels of a different time. Of a time where life was simpler and more family orientated. Of a time connected to the land and to each other. Of a... More

The location of this rural hotel is incredible, high up a winding road, up in the mountains. Views from hotel rooms are great with own balcony to sit and relax in. This is a magical rural hotel, great for walks up into the mountain. The forests around are full of butterflies and ancient trees. Check out the owl calls at... More

This is a family-run hotel in a charming farming village at the end of a road that winds up and up through the valley until the top. The staff are very helpful and friendly and it is nice to sit with the family members by the wood burner and sample the local spirits (Ororu?) A walk around the village is... More

Just perfect, the views are beyond description, the hotel is a wonderful old stone building with nice modern bedrooms and baths, the family just could not be any nicer, so helpful in telling us where to visit. They took the time to chat with us about life up here in the mountains over our FANTASTIC meals. A simple but lovely... More

We stayed for 2 nights looking for a break from cities, sights and driving and this was perfect answer. Friendly reception, very large room with a view (number 1) and 2 good chairs. Tina gave us 2 good walks from the front door and we had nice warm weather. Wifi is best in the sitting room downstairs but my wife... More

My wife and I stayed here two nights and thoroughly enjoyed the place. Room 9 was excellent; a corner room more spacious than others and on the quiet end of the hallway. Tho I should note that we were the only guests; end of May. Tina gave us good ideas for hikes and things to see as we drove about.... More

I was all set for a disappointing holiday when at the last minute my wife couldn't come with me, but I had such a warm welcome at the Posada de Cucayo that I had a great time. The Posada is comfortable, spotlessly clean with spacious rooms with great views, but the best part is the warmth and friendliness that greets... More

This is a wonderful and remote country hideaway which is owned by a family who are the perfect hosts. The service is relaxed, friendly and extremely helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who likes the great outdoors and likes to be away from the crowds. The views from the hotel and the surrounding walking trails are extremely special... More

It was great to be back at the Posado de Cucayo with Tina, Ana & all the family for 5 more days. The drive up to Cucayo was as spectacular as ever, the highpoint being the views by the Dobres tunnels. We were speedily settled in to our, quiet, and comfortable room, which as ever has amazing views of the... More

In the summer we escape to La Posada del Cucayo to enjoy nature in a fantastic setting. We like the family atmosphere and friendly accueil at La Posada and spend the days outside and the nights chatting and resting. It is a very special place, far from the crowds and yet not difficult to find. Highly enjoyable.
