When we lived in the area, we used to go to the Castle often. The quirky nature of the building fascinated us and the fact that it was free house was attractive. We often said we hoped it wouldn't change in changing times. Well, the good news is that it hasn't changed, which is also the bad news. The place... More

We were attracted to the Castle because it promotes itself as very dog friendly. In this it succeeds entirely. Fortunately for dog owners this is no longer the rarity it used to be and guests can expect more. For £98 we had a small, shabby room with discoloured and peeling wallpaper. Towels and bedding were so worn - one towel... More

We walked into this lovely village from Durdle door holiday park specifically to eat here. It was a lovely evening, the food was great and different ciders were enjoyed. The staff were all very friendly. We had 2 small children and 2 dogs with us, all of us felt very welcomed.

We could not have chosen a better place. Very welcoming and friendly pub. They serve food from 12:00 onwards unlike many others in the area who only start serving at 18:00 or later. The choice of food was first class, it was cooked to perfection and delivered quickly to our table. The restaurant area was well laid out with free... More

We were due to visit at the beginning of August, but due to a family emergency two days before our break, we were unable to attend. The three double rooms we had booked are marked as non refundable, I called and spoke to Wendy who was extremely helpful and managed to change my booking for the three rooms to another... More

This beautiful thatched pub in one of the prettiest villages in Dorset looked so promising. Sadly it disappointed on all fronts. The garden was inexplicably closed it was a lovely evening so why? The pub decor was tired and dated with shabby, grubby, 80's carpet and naffg ornaments. The food was very poor. Frozen fish for the cod and ships..... More

We popped into the Castle Inn to see if it had improved since we had last stayed there - and were surprised to see that it had just got worse. On our first visit, more than a decade ago, we forgave the fact that the rooms were small, shabby, dirty and smelt. The pub welcomed dogs, which was great because we... More

My partner and I had a meal there on Monday 15th August. The first problem was I had to queue twice once to order drinks and again to order food. On being seated I noticed several glum looking faces and this should of made me walk out. We had to wait almost an hour for our food , several people... More

We were driving to the beaches in Dorset and decided to stop at this inn to have some food and drink located about 5 minutes before we got to the beach. It's a quaint English inn with a pub serving the usual food and beverage items you would expect. We ordered fish & chips, chicken and mushroom pies and washed... More
