We loved staying here. This place is ticking all the boxes. There are only two apartments each with two bedrooms. If need they can be separated. So we had one bedroom apartment with kitchen and balcony. Newly renovated it looks really luxurious with a balcony overviewing the pool and the valley. The swimming pool is natural and very pleasant. Oswald is a wonderful host. Do make sure you order at least one breakfast- it’s huge, delicious and served at the pool. Great way to start morning. Can definitely recommend and also perfect with kids as they have cats, Guinea pigs (many) and chickens. Really lovely place. Oswald will make sure you feel like at home! We miss it already

Kraidlhof is a large family house, of which the first floor has been made into five bedrooms surrounding a large guest's lounge,( incl a small kitchen). All bedrooms are ensuite and have balconies, The ones at the front of the house have wonderful views across the valley. Kraidlhof is situated 3 km above Kurtatsch or Cortaccia if you want the Italian version. The road up feels almost perpendicular at times and it's not really walkable. A car with a medium sized engine is therefore a must. The views are superb, and the house is surrounded by apple orchards and vineyards. Dorothea ,the owner offers their own red and white wine available for purchase at reasonable rates. Breakfasts are generous, and include homemade fresh apple juice, muesli, various meats and cheeses, and different breads/rolls. Freshly cooked egges are also on offer, and the ham and eggs is unique. the bedrooms are spacious and include flat screen TV and a sofa. The balconies have a table and chairs. Our bathroom was a good size with a large shower, (no bath). This part of Italy is over 70% German speaking, and the remainder speak Italian, virtually no one speaks English. Dorothea's English is improving, but is only basic.The reason for the title of this review is partly due to the location of Kraidlhof above Kurtatsch, but mainly due to Dorothea's exceptional hospitality. Knowing that we were English she had had English channels added to the Tv in our room before we arrived, she also telephoned the Kurtatsch Tourist Info office to ensure they could supply us with english brochures about Kurtatsch, and offered to pick us up in Kurtatsch so that we could go to a wine festival and not have to drive. Add to this her lovely personality and you have a hostess who will go out of her way to make your holiday special, and she certainly did. Although Kraidlhof is some way out of Kurtatsch , there is a restaurant/weinstube literally across the road called Santlhof, and the Cabernet Sauvignon which comes in litre bottles is - as Michelin says- worth a detour. They do sell it by the glass as well. The food is rustic and excellent. Kraidlhof is a very special B & B.

We were allowed to spend five wonderful days here. The view (even from the shower in the morning ) into the vastness of the mountains along with the very tasteful decor and a wonderful bath we enjoyed extremely well. But unbeatable is the infinitely beautifully landscaped pool area, that's all you can do. We enjoyed the pool at sunrise, during the day and evening; A dream. Family Mayr was the perfect host.

We had a very nice and relaxing time in Kurtatsch and the Kraidlhof. The location with a fantastic view and the very nice apartments corresponded exactly to the photos and the description. The host family welcomed us warmly and provided us with everything we needed (delicious eggs from their own chickens, bread rolls, etc.). The garden with the beautiful natural pond is just great for relaxing after hiking, biking, etc. We also used the grill.
