A visit to Elewana Kifaru House is to plunge into the timeless tranquility of Africa. Located within the world-famous Lewa Conservancy, home to East Africa’s healthiest black and white rhino populations, this bijou property, appropriately takes its name from the Swahili word for rhino. A haven of luxury in the bush, guests will immediately feel at home on arrival, warmly welcomed by the friendly and attentive staff. The comfortable sitting room with well-stocked bar and elegant dining area extend out to a large, comfortably furnished terrace. Here, guests can enjoy a sunny breakfast al fresco and watch the busy goings-on at the waterhole below, or they can choose to relax by the picturesque infinity pool and enjoy the magnificent views over the distant plains.

We had a three day stay at this property in September. It was one of four properties that we stayed at during our safari. Kifaru House is truly a must stay destination! The views from this property are breathtaking. The individual cottages are spacious, extremely clean, and very beautiful. Sacha and his team make the stay so unique and personal. The dinners and cocktail hour in the lodge are a don’t miss experience. Our driver was Phillip, and he was extremely knowledgeable, personable, and professional.. He made sure that we saw many black and white rhinos even some with their young babies. What an experience! We also saw many lions, giraffes, Grevy zebras, and many other types of wildlife. The breakfasts and sundowners in the bush were incredible! Philip made each day and evening of our three day stay so unique! The entire team at Kifaru - Sacha, Philip, Janet, Ruth, and the dining staff made Kifaru House a highlight of our safari! Every possible detail has been carefully planned and carried out! Don’t miss a chance to stay here!

Property's Favorite Review
Sacha and his team have an amazing piece of heaven in an already stunningly beautiful location. The whole team at Kifaru House was outstanding. My sister, parents, and I spent 4 nights at Kifaru House and enjoyed every minute. The accommodations were luxurious - with one of the best showers I have ever used. The beds were wonderfully comfortable and the hot water bottles placed every night while we enjoyed dinner were perfect. Peter and the dining room team were exemplary and handled my mom and sister's allergies quite well. The food was outstanding. The chef team created incredible menus every day - and delicious gluten free options for my mom and sister. If you have a gluten free allergy, Elewana is the place for you. The game drives within the Lewa Conservancy were beyond anything I can describe. Our guide David grew up in the area and has been incredibly well trained by Sacha and the other guides, Philip and Godfrey. They work together to make sure guests have every opportunity to see the incredible aminals in Lewa. David's enthusiasm for the area, animals and conservation was infectious and by after 4 days, leaving him was incredibly hard. I cannot wait to come back to Kifaru House! We also needed to visit the clinic set up by the Lewa Conservancy due to some health issues and we were astounded at the skill and professionalism from the staff. They were even able to get my mom a new nebulizer in 24 hours when hers broke.

The staff is excellent. Sacha is probably the best host/manager we have met on our many holidays; he's excellent, a warm genuine person and has a wealth of knowledge and experience. Thanks to Sacha, the staff helped us celebrate our wedding anniversary with song and dancing and the special cake, wow! they were excellent. We will never forget Godfrey our guide has eagle eyes, drives offroad with smoothness and finesse considering the road conditions. From Godfrey you can learn about anything from termites, aunts, and the small five to the big five, and flora. Do you want a quiet sundowner, Godfrey will find the place for you to sit and enjoy sunset, rhinos, monkey, baboons, it's your choice and he will accommodate. Special shout out to Peter and Chris at the restaurant and Janet in housekeeping, it's amazing what Chef John and Boniface and their staff can cook in the middle of the conservancy. Accommodations, bedding, and food and excellent. The bush breakfast and lunch were a surprise and fun! Suffice to say, Say with Sacha and the gang!

My wife and I had an amazing stay at the Elewana Kifaru House. Sacha, James, and the whole team made our stay unforgettable. James led amazing game drives where we saw all sorts of animals with a breathtaking backdrop. Every meal was delicious and tailored to our preferences. We especially enjoyed listening to Sacha's stories about his life as a safari guide and now manager of the Kifaru House. Highly, highly recommend!

In September 2022 , I traveled to Kenya for the first time. My travel agent set up my trip plans to stay at Kifaru House in Lewa conservancy. This was my favorite accommodations out of 3 locations. I loved my accommodations which was spacious and beautiful with breathtaking views. Sacha and staff were wonderful in making me feel welcomed and they provided exceptional service. I had David as my guide for the game drives. He was knowledgeable about the local animals, and culture. This location is well known for their black and white rhinos conservancy. The meals and service were outstanding, and a surprise was breakfast and sundowners in the bush! I want to extend a special thanks to Sacha, David, Carol, James, and friends for making my trip to Kenya memorable. I look forward in returning soon! Asante!

Kifaru House is divine. Zebra and giraffes coming onto the grounds to feed on the green grass right in front of the lodge. Welcome to Kenya. Guide David so enthusiastic, outstanding meals, gorgeously appointed rooms, all exemplary. Lewa and the rhinos outstanding. Bravo.

We travelled as a family of 3 adults at end of May 2022 and i have really only word to say.....SUPERB! To add to this though I would say this has been one of our most memorable staycations. The hotel itself is awesome, staff faultless. we were so spoiled and pampered, every whim catered for. Truly did not feel like leaving Sasha the manager welcomed us warmly and maintained this throughout our stay. It was like sharing the moments of the day with family or an old friend. Thank you for that. Our guide Philip was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area and ensured we came away satisfied each time. And of course whats a review without a food review. This was the highlight at Kifaru House. We had sent on our dietary requirements on ahead fully expecting to reiterate on arrival but were so pleasantly surprised. We really really appreciated that attention to detail. Rooms comfortable and housekeeping was great too. Would love to return and have already recommended this little paradise!!

We did a self-drive which was a very good idea as we had a chance of enjoying the beautiful scenery. We arrived and we were pleasantly surprised by the fact that we have to leave the car at a designated parking and use the lodge cruisers to the house. This served as a start to the game drive which is a great idea. We arrives at the house and were welcomed by the manager Sacha and other staff. The guides are great and very knowledgeable. The house is very welcoming and the cottages are very spacious. The chef was great and we were able to make requests on the menu and they were accommodated precisely. The conservancy is well maintained and it made sense why they only allow their cars around it. The highlight of our visit was the bush breakfast. Always request or go for it is suggested. On one day we were able to spot 9 lions which was great. I would highly recommend Kifaru House.

Dear Carl K, Many thanks for your your recent review on Elewnana Kifaru House. Lewa Wildlife Conservancy doesn't allow private vehicles to drive around the conservancy and hence why the wildlife and sightings you see are magical. All guests staying at Kifaru House and other properties here on Lewa Wildlife Conservancy respect this ruling to give the guests the best guided experience and sightings. The guides here have years of experience and are a fountain of knowledge on the Fauna and Flora that you see. Thank you very much for your compliments on our property and the culinary experience - the team will be thrilled to hear this feedback. As an intimate property immersed in the wild, we aim to provide you all the comfort you would get in a home away from home. We look forward to welcoming you back soon! Best Regards, Sacha and the Team from Kifaru House

I had a very poor experience trying to book a cottage at Kifaru House. My wife and I have a 2 year old son, and were told that we would not be able to visit this property unless we brought childcare with us or paid an additional $430 per day for a private safari vehicle. The person that I was dealing with on the phone was indifferent to my situation, saying that if I could not afford the additional costs, there were others that could so should look elsewhere. I would expect a luxury travel company to provide a much better service and will certainly not be looking to stay at an Elewana property again in the future.
