Haneda, Kamata
Haneda / Kamata is known for its airport with many hotels popping up with the increase in international flights. It’s also an area that offers many shrines and temples with ancient origins including Anamori Inari Shrine or Ikegami Honmonji temple which is visited by more than 300,000 people in October's Buddhist Oeshiki festival. The area around Kamata station is lined with restaurants and is lively until late at night. In particular, it’s known for the large collection of tasty gyoza specialists.

Super good location at Kamata station accessible to anywhere. Many eateries n resturant n shops around. 10mins from Haneda Airport by the local bus. Small neat budget hotel, rooms are small but fully equip n space well used even have cupboard, tv, mini fridge n bath tub. Hotel provide simple complimentary breakfast. Will stay here again when in Tokyo.

At one third of the flasher options this chain is great value. They gave us a large twin room laid out for wheelchair access. The wifi took ages to connect but was fast. The free bus took only 10 minutes from Haneda airport and the return bus starts very early. I definitely recommend it for a short, cheap stay.

Toyoko Inn's rooms are in general very small, but this one is more spacious. Bathroom is also spacious and comfortable. There is a humidifier, which makes it comfortable during winter. I experienced difficulty in wifi, since there was no technician during weekend. It seems that the router has a switch, which the hotel staff did not know (it seems) and there was no instruction. I was lucky to find it. Being a business hotel, I would have expected a better service for IT. There is a bus to the airport nearby, so it is very convenient. But it is a bit of a walk from the Keikyu Kamata station (not advisable to walk if you have large luggage).

We had travel issues and had to stay near Haneda airport but the Toyoko Inn we stayed at close to Haneda was fully booked one of the three nights we were stuck in Tokyo and they sent us to this one on night three. It was a big enough difference between the two for this place to be somewhere between POOR and AVERAGE. Overall I think Toyoko Inn's are great value but this one specifically put us in a smoking room which had the worst nicotene stench I've ever experienced, making it through the night was challenging, I woke up couhgin several times but all non-smoking rooms were booked so we couldn't hold this against them too much. Still, they were next to a very loud construction site and the noise was coming through pretty loud. Also, overall the place felt a little dingy and not unsafe but not the safest either. Neighborhood was vibrant but in a city way, not necessarily a good way. Lobby was small, felt cramped. On the positive side they do have free wifi, the staff person tried very hard to be helpful, a simple but yummy Japanese breakfast was included, and they have free sue of computer and printer downstairs which was very helpful.
